The trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series has been released today – but it doesn’t feature the Duke or Duchess of Sussex.
Titled POLO, the five-episode program will show the ‘fierce competition’ and ‘intense training’ that participants go through at the US Open Polo Championship.
A clip promoting the program, shared on YouTube, features Nacho Figueras, Prince Harry’s longtime friend and professional polo player.
However, there was no footage of the Duke, 40, and the Duchess, 43, who are executive producers on the show, which focuses on some of the polo players’ lives on and off the field.
The trailer shows heated moments between family members, some gorgeous WAGs and interviews with the players, including Nacho, 47, from Argentina, who says: ‘Polo is not just a sport, polo is a lifestyle. Eat, breathe, sleep polo.’
Speaking to People, Prince Harry said: “This series offers viewers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look at the passion and determination that drives some of the world’s elite polo players, revealing the grit behind the glamour.
‘We are proud to show the true depth and passion of the sport – and the intensity of its high-stakes moments.’
Trying to describe the sport in the trailer, the cast member said: ‘Imagine going on a horse at 35 miles an hour as someone comes at you full speed.’

Another continued: ‘It’s the adrenaline that goes through your body – it’s addictive.’
The trailer, which is more than two-and-a-half minutes, shows the professional and personal life of the event’s star athlete, as polo is described as ‘sexy sport, very – dirty, sweaty men riding.’
The five-part series will culminate in the US Open in Wellington, Florida, held annually in the spring.
According to the trailer, the ‘big story’ of the competition at the center of the series is that father and son will play against each other.
The son looks at the screen and says: ‘I want to win against my father so that I can say I beat the greatest in sports.’
Meanwhile, the father admitted: ‘I am very proud of my son but I try to beat him.’
A younger play, named Timmy, also appears in the trailer. This suggests that there will be tension between Timmy and his father, who not only owns the team but is also the coach.
While Timmy insists that it’s ‘healthy to have a personal life outside of being an athlete,’ his father disagrees.

In the trailer, Timmy’s father is seen criticizing his son’s play, while his mother comments that she doesn’t like hearing such criticism.
Elsewhere, the partner of one of the polo players admitted it could ‘take a toll on the family’, especially as the player commutes to Argentina twice a week.
At the end of the trailer, as the words ‘For legacy. For courage. For glory’ seen on the screen, one of the players shows the risk of the sport.
He said: ‘There are so many dangerous things that can happen. It’s not a motor vehicle, it’s not a car, it’s a 1,200-pound animal.’
Others insist they will do anything to win.

Following Diana’s former mother-in-law, Kate and Meghan were also seen on the sidelines watching their husbands play.

“William is gifted because he has to deal with the fact that he is left-handed and has to play polo right-handed,” a commentator told the Express.
Kate often watches her husband play in charity matches and the pair have been photographed sharing a kiss after a game.
