We read everything that comes in. This page explains which address to use, what to include so we can act quickly, and roughly how long a reply should take.
Send us a message
The form below reaches our general enquiries desk. If your message fits one of the specific categories further down this page, writing directly to that address will get it to the right person faster.
How to reach us
We run a single inbox, monitored by the editorial team. Everything below arrives at the same address — [email protected] — so the one thing that genuinely speeds up a reply is putting the right word at the start of your subject line.

Telephone

A few things worth knowing
- Story tips work best with something attached. A document, a dataset, a photograph, a name and a date. Tell us how you came by the information and whether you are willing to be named. We will not publish on the strength of a tip alone — everything gets independently verified first.
- Corrections take priority over everything else in the inbox. Include the article URL, the sentence or figure that is wrong, and where you can, a source for the correct information.
- Advertising enquiries reach a different desk from editorial. Buying advertising will not get a story written, changed or removed.
- Copyright notices have formal requirements. Please read our DMCA Policy first — an incomplete notice cannot be acted on.

How to make a complaint about our journalism
If you believe an article is inaccurate, unfair, or has treated you unjustly, we want to hear about it directly rather than have you wonder whether anyone is listening.
- Write to [email protected] with the article URL, the passage you are complaining about, and what specifically you believe is wrong or unfair.
- We acknowledge your complaint, normally within three working days.
- We investigate — checking the reporting against the original sourcing, and going back to the reporter and editor involved.
- We respond in writing with our findings, normally within twenty-eight days. If the complaint is upheld, we will say so and set out what we are doing about it, whether that is a correction, a clarification, an update note or a retraction.
You do not need a lawyer to complain to us, and we will not treat a complaint less seriously because it arrives informally.
What we cannot help with
- Individual legal, medical or financial advice. We publish journalism, not professional advice. Please see our Disclaimer.
- Removing accurate, lawfully published reporting because a subject would prefer it were not public.
- Guaranteeing coverage. We cannot commit to writing about a company, product, campaign or event.
- Unsolicited press releases sent to editorial addresses — these are read, but rarely answered individually.

A note on unsolicited material
Please do not send us confidential material you are not entitled to disclose. Email is not a secure channel: if what you have is sensitive, say so in a short first message without the substance attached, and we will discuss a safer way to receive it.
