These terms govern your use of worldreportnetwork.com (the “Site”), operated by World Report Network (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.
Please read these together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and DMCA Policy, which form part of them.

2. Changes to these terms and to the Site
We may revise these terms at any time. The “last updated” date above shows when the current version took effect, and continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised terms. We may also change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Site, including individual articles and features, without notice. We do not guarantee that the Site, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted.
3. Using the Site
3.1 Permitted use
You may read, print and download extracts of our content for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may share links to our articles freely. Sharing our journalism is welcome.
3.2 What you must not do
You agree not to:
- republish, reproduce or redistribute substantial parts of our content without our written permission (see section 4);
- use the Site or its content for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
- use automated systems — scrapers, crawlers, bots — to harvest content at a scale that burdens our infrastructure, or in a way that circumvents technical restrictions;
- use our content to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models without our express written permission;
- introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, the server on which it is stored, or any connected server, computer or database;
- attack the Site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, byline, credit or other proprietary notice;
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate any person or entity.
Breaching these provisions may be a criminal offence under applicable computer misuse legislation. We may report a breach to law enforcement and disclose your identity to them where required.
4. Intellectual property
All content on this Site — articles, headlines, analysis, photographs, graphics, layout, design and code — is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights, owned by us or licensed to us by third parties. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of anything to you.
4.1 Quotation and fair dealing
You may quote short extracts from our articles for the purposes of criticism, review, reporting current events, quotation or study, provided that:
- the extract is genuinely brief and proportionate to your purpose;
- World Report Network is credited by name; and
- a direct, followable link to the original article accompanies the extract.
Wholesale republication of an article, or of so much of it that a reader has no reason to visit the original, is not fair dealing and is not permitted.
4.2 Syndication and licensing
To republish an article in full, translate it, or use our material commercially, write to [email protected]. We are usually willing to discuss it. Permission granted for one article is not a standing permission for others.
4.3 Third-party material
Some images and material on the Site are used under licence from third parties or under open licences such as Creative Commons. Where an item carries its own credit and licence note, that licence governs its reuse — not this section. Our permission does not extend to third-party material we do not own.
5. Content you submit to us
If you send us a story tip, a letter, a comment, a photograph or any other material, you confirm that:
- it is your own work, or you have the right to send it to us;
- it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and is not defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful;
- you are entitled to disclose it, and are not breaching a duty of confidence in doing so.
By sending it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit and publish that material in connection with our journalism, in any medium. You keep ownership of your material. We are not obliged to publish anything you send, to return it, or to pay for it unless we have separately agreed to commission you in writing.
We treat requests for confidentiality seriously. If you need to be an unnamed source, say so before you send us the substance, so that we can agree terms first.
6. Accuracy, and what our content is not
We take reasonable care to be accurate, and we correct errors when we find them. However, our content is general journalism published for information. It is not professional advice, and it should not be relied upon as the sole basis for a decision about your health, finances, legal position, travel or safety. Our full Disclaimer explains this in more detail and forms part of these terms.
7. Links to and from the Site
We link extensively to external sources so readers can verify our reporting. Those sites are outside our control; we do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices.
You may link to our homepage or to individual articles, provided you do so fairly, do not damage or exploit our reputation, and do not suggest an association, approval or endorsement that does not exist. You must not frame our content on another site or present it in a way that obscures its origin. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission.
8. Advertising and commercial content
Where the Site carries advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, these are labelled. Advertisers have no role in our editorial decisions. We are not responsible for the products, services or claims of advertisers, and any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law:
- the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied;
- we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and representations to the maximum extent permitted by law;
- we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content;
- we are not liable for loss or damage caused by a virus or other technologically harmful material that infects your equipment through your use of the Site or of anything downloaded from it.
If you are a consumer, these exclusions do not affect your statutory rights, which remain unaffected.
10. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate your access to the Site, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, liability, governing law — continue to apply.
11. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including hosting or network failures, cyber-attacks, power failures, industrial action, government action or natural events.
12. General
- Severability. If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the rest continues in force.
- No waiver. A delay in enforcing these terms is not a waiver of our rights.
- Entire agreement. These terms, with the documents referred to in them, are the whole agreement between us regarding your use of the Site.
- Assignment. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
- No third-party rights. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising out of them or their subject matter are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and the courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident outside Canada, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your country of residence, including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where applicable law gives you that right.
14. Reporting a problem
To report content you believe is unlawful, defamatory or infringing, write to [email protected]. For copyright specifically, please follow the procedure in our DMCA Policy, which sets out what a notice must contain.
