Marques Houston Explains ‘Sister, Sister’ Out In Resurfaced Clip
On Sunday, June 9, The Art Of Dialogue took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a video clip with followers. The clip features footage from Houston’s April 2023 appearance on the ‘R&B MONEY Podcast.’
“I just feel like I don’t want to grow old and be Roger. Like, I don’t want to be…” the singer explained before being cut off by fellow singer-songwriter J. Valentine, who chimed in with the word “typecast.”
Houston seemed to agree and added another thought: “Like, Jaleel White with Urkel.”

From there, the singer explained that while she was a guest star on ‘Sister, Sister’, she was also on the road with R&B group Immature.
“I’m two different people – on the road, I’m sexy, I take off my clothes. I do all (this) on stage, then here I’m goofy. I’m a professional… and it’s like two different characters,” said Houston. “I’m like , ‘This man, he ruined Imature.”
Houston seemed to explain that his feelings came to a boiling point when he noticed “Roger overtakes Immature.”
“After I started coming out, and everybody started saying ‘Come home, Roger,’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to,'” he continued.
In the end, the singer explained that he felt he was “spreading himself as an entertainer,” which didn’t work for the group. Houston added that he was represented as a “lady’s man” in Immature, and that his role as Roger was not.
At that time, Valentine asked Houston if she would stay if Roger had become a woman, which she confirmed.

I understand what is meant to be typecast as a beloved pest character as a child after a certain age he outgrows Roger but I love the character in his younger brother but there is always time to move on in real life.

Social Media Goes Wild With Reactions
Social media users shared many reactions to Houston’s words that resurfaced in the comments section of The Art Of Dialogue X.
Understandable.. the verbiage of the tweet makes it sound like shade. But if you listen to him, it’s not shady at all.

The singer recently made headlines with this major life update
Most recently, Houston made headlines after welcoming her second child with her husband, Miya, in December 2023. As reported by The Shade Room, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Greyson.
For the record, the couple also has an older daughter named Zara.
The Houstons have been married since 2020. However, their union has caused a lot of conversation in recent years. As The Shade Room previously reported, in April 2023, Marques Houston went viral for defending the 20-year-old gap. For the record, Marques is Miya’s senior.
Later that month, Houston caused further backlash after saying he could marry a woman his own age. However, he believes he has a “different outlook on life.”
