Everything is as it seems now Wizards of Waverly Place get a sequel! Disney Channel’s best sitcoms have made such an incredible impact on audiences that they’re now getting the revival treatment in a steady stream of sequels, prequels and re-quels! Plot from Wizards Beyond Waverly Place focus on the human life of one main character away from the world of wizards along with new players. And fans have some great characters to look forward to in the pilot episode: Selena GomezAlex Russo!
On January 26, 2024, David DeLuise and David Henrywho played father and son in the series, took to Instagram to share a group photo with Selena and fellow costar Maria Canals-Barrera. “The Russians ❤️back,” she captioned it, indicating that the picture was taken recently. Jake T. Austin also recently reposted his former co-star’s post to his Instagram story, hinting that he might appear.
Just a few days before, Selena and some of her costars appeared in the first look behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the sequel. They all gathered together and posed while looking very happy.

Cast of ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’
Selena appeared in the show’s pilot episode. However, it is currently unknown if he will return as Alex Russo in the next episode. Sister TV actress Hulu, David Henryis reprising his role as Justin Russo as a series regular.
New faces are all part of the cast, incl Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.
The original series starred Jake T. Austin as Max, David DeLuise as Jerry, Jennifer Stone as Harper and Maria Canals-Barrera as Theresa. Other stars included Greg Sulkin as Alex’s boyfriend, Mason, and Bridget Mendler as Justin’s girlfriend, Juliet.
In response to social media comments, David assured fans that he and the other OGs are planning to return for a new series. “We definitely plan on bringing back the original cast for the series,” David said comments.
Is there a Sequel to ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’?
According to the outlet, the new series will show Justin living a normal life away from the Wizard World. After mysterious events at WizardTech, a powerful young wizard named Billie needs training and enlists Justin’s help. However, the now grown-up Justin lives as a human being with his wife and children. Now, he must return to help the new magician learn the ropes.
when Jimmy Kimmel asked Selena about the “reboot” in a February 2024 interview, she explained that she didn’t use the exact terminology for the show. “It’s not life anymore. It’s going to be a different version, that’s for sure,” he said. “It will be really fun. I’m excited to bring the character back.
‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ Premiere Date
The first two episodes will air on Disney Channel on October 29 at 8:00 PM ET. Disney+ will stream the first eight episodes on October 30.
The original show aired from 2007 to 2012.
According to some outlets, Raven’s house star Raven-Symoné and Boy Meets World alum Danielle Fishel directed season 1 episodes.
Why did ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ end?
The series reportedly ended so that Selena could get a different acting role. However, he has never publicly confirmed this rumour. A year after the show ended, the cast reunited for a TV movie sequel of the same title The Wizards Bali: Alex vs. Alex.
In 2023, Jennifer revealed during an episode of her and David’s podcast, “Wizards of Waverly Pod,” that Selena turned down the opportunity in the “Alex-Harper spinoff” due to her busy schedule.
“Now, I don’t know the truth about this, but I was told that it was sent to Selena – and I had to ask her because I’ve never asked about it – But I was told that it was installed. for Selena to do the Harper-Alex spin-off,” said Jennifer. “He said ‘no’ because he had a lot of other things to do.”
