Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addresses a rally in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (September 25), where polling for the second phase of assembly elections is underway. Meaning “Kashmiri Pandit”, he even said “refugee from PoK (Pakistani occupied Kashmir)” and, realizing his mistake, quickly corrected himself.
Gandhi said former prime minister Manmohan Singh’s promise to the refugees coming from PoK would be fulfilled. He then said “sorry” and changed it to “promise made to Kashmiri Pandits”. “Refugees who are from PoK, the promise made by Manmohan Singh ji to them will be fulfilled… Sorry… Kashmiri Pandits… the promise made to Kashmiri Pandits will be fulfilled,” he said at a rally.
However, this is not unknown and gives a lot of ammunition to the ruling BJP. Party leader from Andhra Pradesh, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy took a jibe at the Congress MP and said “no matter how hard you try to hide the truth, it eventually comes out”.
No matter how you try to hide the truth, it eventually comes out! Kudos to Rahul Gandhi for speaking the real truth, even if it is wrong.. pic.twitter.com/aZpp0RNXs2

“No matter how hard you try to hide the truth, it eventually comes out! Kudos to Rahul Gandhi for speaking the real truth, even if it’s wrong.
In another post, Reddy said: “So, Rahul Gandhi said in Jammu that “the Indian government is an outsider to the people of J&K, so it is unfair to them. But the same Congress and its allies have always supported discussions with Pakistan on Kashmir. So, for them, the Indian government is an outsider, but Pakistan is not.
Gandhi addressed two rallies in J&K – one in Jammu and the other in Sopore. At the rally, he spoke extensively about restoring the state’s status to a union territory.
“In the history of India, after 1947, several UTs were converted into states. The state was divided – Telangana was formed from Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand was formed from Bihar, Chhattisgarh was carved from Madhya Pradesh. However, for the first time after independence, a state was converted into a UT. This was done in Jammu and Kashmir. This is an injustice to you. Your democratic rights have been taken away from you,” he said at a rally in Jammu.
He added: “Today J&K, is not run by J&K people, but by people in other countries. We have thought that you will return to the country before the elections. That should be the right way…But it would be better if they hold the elections first. But we want your democratic rights, the state of J&K to be given back.
He reiterated it in Sopore, saying that J&K must get its country back, and that will happen when the INDIA bloc government is formed. Slamming the BJP, he said the party has an ideology of hatred and it is spreading across the country.
“We want the state to be restored before the elections. All the people of Jammu and Kashmir want elections to be held after the restoration of the state… It is not happening, the first step is the elections. But after this, the state of Jammu and Kashmir must be restored. INDIA ALLIANCE will pressure PM Modi in Parliament to this.If they don’t do this then we will restore the status of your country after the INDIA alliance forms the government at the Centre…
