Composer legend Hans Zimmer was the top winner at the fifteenth annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards held Wednesday evening, with three wins. The film “Emilia Pérez” also won three wins, adopted by “The Wild Robotic” and “Deadpool & Wolverine” with two.
HMMA awards songs and scores in 39 classes at the event, held at Avalon Hollywood. The list of winners for 2024 is eclectic and includes well-known names such as Elton John, AR Rahman, Kris Bowers, Miley Cyrus, Diane Warren, Alberto Iglesias, Maren Morris, Zoe Saldana, Clément Ducol, Robin Carolan, Pinar Toprak, Lainey Wilson, Brandi Carlile, Ilan Eshkeri, Olivia Rodrigo, Camille and dozens of extras. Bernie Taupin was probably the most famous award of the evening, as he was introduced to the Outstanding Professional Achievement Award for lifetime employment, mainly showing in the award for the best track of the documentary for “It’s Not Too Late”, the closing theme. of the brand new Elton John movie of that title.
“Emilia Pérez” received three major awards in the rating class for feature films, which were Clément Ducol & Camille; best musical themed film (biopic or musical); and efficiency on the screen track in the film, the honor earned by Zoe Saldana.
Zimmer’s three main awards for people are for his work on “Dune: Half Two” (rating for scifi/fantasy film), TV documentary collection “Planet Earth III” (joined by Jacob Shea and Sara Barone) and Barbra Streisand-sung song “Love Will Survive” from “The Tattooist of Auschwitz” (track for current TV or limited collection, with co-writers Kara Talve, Walter Afanasieff and Charlie Midnight).
The second victory for “The WIld Robotic” came in the animated film rating class, for Kris Bowers, and the unique track for the animated film, awarded to singer/co-writer Maren Morris in addition to Ali Tamposi, Michael. Pollack, Delacey, Jordan Johnson and Stefan Johnson.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” earned for each the best soundtrack and the best musical supervision, the latter going to Dave Jordan.
Among the many films that picked up the rating award were “The Room Subsequent Door” (in the unbiased film division), “Nosferatu” (horror/thriller), “Treendous/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” (documentary), “The Goat” . Live” (unbiased film, foreign language). Ratings for “Shogun” got in the TV division.=
Along with these songs, others have been awarded from the movies “The Six Triple Eight” and “The Final Showgirl.”
