Just hours after a shooting that left at least one audience member dead and two others in critical condition at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday night, Republican Senator JD Vance blamed Democrats and President Biden.
“Today is not just an isolated incident. The main premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at any cost. His rhetoric directly led to an assassination attempt on President Trump.
In 2016, JD Vance’s roommate said he called Donald Trump “America’s Hitler.”
In 2024, JD Vance blamed President Biden’s “rhetoric” for the shooting of what appeared to be a registered Republican.
JD Vance’s law roommate at Yale shared a clear picture of the message he claimed, and the Republican Senatorial campaign now confirmed, Vance wrote:
“I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical bastard like Nixon who wouldn’t be bad (and maybe useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler. How’s that for letting go?â€
Vance also described the Republican Party as “whether we like it or not, the party of low-income, lower-educated white people,” and said, “Trump is the fruit of the party’s collective neglect.” €
Vance had a lot to say about Trump at the time. So, the Lincoln Project mocked him by calling him a Never Trumper while campaigning with Trump:

But what is different is Vance’s rhetoric that puts a target on President Biden’s back by accusing him of being out of touch.
One cannot cause more violence when someone mentions political rhetoric and expect it to be taken seriously by anyone but the MAGA base, which is a concern.
Vance’s statement is very good, because the Republican Party has systematically failed to hold Trump and MAGA politicians responsible for the violent rhetoric and this former president who proposed a deadly attack in a coup attempt to stay in power and again. refused to denounce the political violence in January of this year and in the debate refused to respect the will of the voters – from these actions contributed to an atmosphere of higher temperature, fear, anger, anxiety, mistrust, and violence.
Kevin Roberts, the leader of the pro-Trump Project 2025, says there will be a “new American Revolution” that will be bloodless – if the left allows it to “not lower the temperature.
Calling Project 2025 for the actual plan presented is not incitement; it is responsibility based on reality. The party cannot plan to radically undermine the foundations of the US government after causing a deadly insurgency when it loses power and expect everyone to ignore it.
Threats monitored by law enforcement come from both sides, but one side is political violence from above and the other side is citizens. respond for the continued radicalization of the Republican Party and the rights stolen from America. The obvious answer to this problem is to all political leaders to stop inciting violencebut this JD Vance responds to deadly violence by recklessly inciting more violence.
It is currently unknown what struck Donald Trump’s ears. He said he was shot, but law enforcement told the media last night that he had been hit by glass from a teleprompter. The teleprompter appears undamaged from the audience’s point of view, but law enforcement certainly has a better view of the teleprompter from Trump’s point of view.
What can’t be denied is that people got access to an AR-15 type of rifle, climbed up on the rooftop in the wide open area that the Trump campaign chose for the venue, and took it to the crowd. Law enforcement called it an assassination attempt on the former president.
We also need to pay attention to words versus actions. Republican lawmakers often wear AR-style rifles on the House floor and in December once again blocked efforts by Democrats to pass assault weapons bans and universal background checks.
President Biden condemned the violence by telling the public after the shooting, “Look, there’s no place in America for this kind of violence. It’s sick. It’s sick. It’s one of the reasons why we have to unite this country. We can’t let this happen. We can’t be like this. We can’t admit this.
The president also said earlier in a statement sent to PoliticusUSA that he had been briefed on the shooting and prayed for Trump and his family and everyone at the rally, adding “Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him safe. .There is no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.
The FBI has taken a lead role in the ongoing investigation and is asking anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
