A Secret Service special agent, who was partially responsible for planning security at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally where President Trump was nearly assassinated, is under internal investigation for allegedly leaking sensitive videos and photos from his protective duties to social media.
According to RealClearPolitics (RCP) correspondent Susan Crabtree, the female agent was the official site agent for the July 13 event in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a rallygoer, Corey Comperatore, was tragically murdered in front of his family.
An analysis of the agent’s Facebook account revealed a photo that appeared to be from Mar-a-Lago, captioned with a heartwarming message: “The sun to be thankful for…” accompanied by heart and sun emojis and hashtags like “#nofilter #southflorida #thankful #workingmode. “
“A source familiar with the video said most of it appeared on the agent’s Instagram account, which was marked private,” Crabtree wrote on X.

Sources in the Secret Service said the site agent lacked the experience for such a critical security role, but noted that the position was rotated throughout Trump’s detail, not routinely assigned based on merit or experience.
There are now concerns within the agency that the site agent for Butler’s rally will fail due to an extraordinary layer of security failure – that Rowe will fire him via social media posts, but not because of the security failure at the July 13 event. .
In contrast, the main agent has decades of experience in the Secret Service but has no experience in the protective detail, the innermost ring of security for the president, the first lady, former presidents, and their families, according to sources in the Secret Service community. familiar with her background.
While months of grudges and indictments leading up to the assassination attempt against Trump have certainly distracted Trump’s details from his primary mission, Butler’s rally served as a wake-up call and a reset, according to sources close to Curran.
“Agent Sone called it a 9/11 moment where people chose to go back to the details,” said a source in the Secret Service community. “Morale is high, people are motivated. The agents are (protecting Trump) with stiff jaws with steel on their spines.
The incident was not an isolated case, but part of a wider pattern of dysfunction in the Secret Service detail assigned to Trump, according to Crabtree.
Over the past year, internal disputes have plagued the team, distracting agents from their primary mission: ensuring Trump’s safety amid threats.
“Rancor, recriminations, and complaints of serious formal misconduct have plagued all levels of the Secret Service detail assigned to protect former President Donald Trump over the past year, distracting the team from its core mission of securing Trump from physical harm and preventing assassination,” Crabtree wrote.
“Trump’s regular detail team, a force of 60 employees – special agents and support staff – has experienced internal divisions, long work days and weeks, and constant stress. Last year, the team lost one member to suicide,” added they.
RealClearPolitics obtained information on the May 15 conference call when Sean Curran, the detail leader, and his deputy, Matthew Piant, addressed the issue.
He expressed dismay at what he called “gossip, innuendo and toxicity” in the ranks. The leader condemned the shocking incident in which cellphone photos were taken of two support staff members sleeping while on duty at Mar-a-Lago – a breach of professionalism that was circulated among team members for entertainment.
Piant labeled this prank as a betrayal of trust and insisted that responsibility should be met in a different way.
“Those who encounter those who are sleeping should be responsible for waking them up with a nudge,” said each RCP. However, many rank and file agents expressed frustration that the sleepers were never disciplined.
