Martha Stewart became real.
The lifestyle guru admitted in the trailer for the new Netflix documentary “Martha” that she had an affair during her marriage to her only husband, Andrew Stewart.
“Young ladies, listen to my advice, if you’re married and your husband starts cheating, he’s a piece of s—,” the 83-year-old says in the trailer. “Get out of that marriage.”
“Didn’t you cheat first?” producers can be heard speaking to maven home and garden.

“Yeah, but I don’t think Andy knows about that,” Stewart replied.
The new documentary covers Stewart’s marriage, rise in the lifestyle industry and legal issues.
“What does it mean to be the first female billionaire in history?” Stewart asked herself rhetorically at the beginning of the trailer before laughing.
He added in the trailer that he “thinks it’s crazy” that his career came together, “but it works.”

“I’m strict, and I’m demanding, and I’m all the good things that make people successful,” he added.
The man in the trailer says that while those qualities are good for a businessman, Stewart is labeled a “b—-.”

“It’s all very inspiring,” Stewart said of being called a b—-.
“I don’t think Andy ever knew about it.”
Stewart, a former model, worked as a stockbroker and then started a catering business in the 1970s which led to her first cookbook, “Entertaining,” in 1982. More cookbooks followed, and she began making TV appearances.
Her magazine, Martha Stewart Living, published its first issue in the winter of 1990.
But at the height of his success in 2004, he was prosecuted and convicted on multiple charges, including conspiracy, securities fraud and obstruction of justice. He served five months in a minimum-security federal prison.
“I’m a trophy for these idiots,” Stewart said in the documentary. “I was dragged in alone. There was no food or water. The prosecutor should have put it in the Cuisinart and turned it on high.”

He said that after getting out of prison, he had to “get out of the hole” professionally, but in the mid-80s, the lifestyle icon remained relevant, from being friends with Snoop Dogg and posting thirst traps on social media. for the continued success of her brand.
“What’s more important? Marriage or career?” he posited in the documentary.
After the producer told him, “You’re talking to me,” Stewart replied, “I don’t know.”
“A cookie-cutter home and a cookie-cutter life are not for me,” he says in the trailer. “I could have just been a miserable housewife, but I didn’t let that happen, and I’m glad I didn’t.”

The former couple married in 1961 and divorced in 1990. Their only daughter, Alexis, 59, has followed in her mother’s footsteps as a radio and TV host, including her mother’s brand.
Stewart admitted the divorce was difficult for her, in a 2020 interview with People magazine.
“Divorce was a terrible thing for me, because we were the first in my family to divorce,” she said. “And we have not spoken since the divorce is even more painful. But I am very strong, and I am very motivated to get in life.”
