Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles is one close-knit family unit.
Owens, 29, took to social media just hours after making his debut for the Chicago Bears on Saturday, September 8, to share Biles’ response to his first touchdown of the NFL season.
After Biles, 27, wrote via X that she “almost had a heart attack” watching her husband score for her new team, Owens shared her response via Instagram Stories.
“Love my baby 😂❤️” Owens wrote along with footage of his stunning touchdown and a picture from X’s Olympic gymnastics post.
The public show of support came after a Fox announcer who had been commentating the game for the network called Owens “Mr. Biles.”
In a clip posted via Instagram on Sunday, the announcer can be heard saying, “Mr. Biles get in there!” Social media users were quick to pick up on the hilarious call with one user writing in the comments section, “‘Mr. Biles is in there’ is crazy but it’s a title you can get right lol Well done Owens.”
The Bears defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-17.
Biles and Owens married in April 2023 after dating for two years. Before the Bears’ first game of the season, Biles was by her husband’s side during a preseason game. He also cheered on his wife when the Bears, who signed Owens to two years earlier this year after the athlete played with the Green Bay Packers in 2023, played the Cincinnati Bengals last month.
Biles’ appearance at the Bengals game comes just days after she returned to the United States after the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, where she became the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history.
The talented sportsman took home three gold medals and one silver, bringing his total Olympic medals to 11.
While their sports careers continue to take center stage, Biles and Owens also say that their personal lives are the priority they work on.
The couple are currently building their “dream home” in Texas, posing together for a sweet mirror selfie shared via Biles’ Instagram Story on August 31.
The photo captures the couple in their new home, which is still under construction, with Biles captioning it, “Building our dream home. So lucky to be able to do this thing called life with you.”
It follows Biles showing the previous progress in building the home through Instagram on August 22. “House meetings all day,” she wrote through a selfie taken during her busy schedule, which includes overseeing landscaping, pool plans, audio and security systems and more.
