Citing a recent report by the Reserve Bank of India on employment figures, the Prime Minister stressed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government continues to prioritize stability and growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asserted that the creation of eight crore new jobs in the last three to four years has been “mute” spreading a false narrative about unemployment.
Quoting the Reserve Bank of India’s recent report on employment figures, the Prime Minister emphasized that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government continues to prioritize stability and growth and added that small and large investors have welcomed the third term of the NDA with enthusiasm.
During an event to launch projects worth Rs 29,000 crore in road, railway and port sectors, Modi slammed opposition parties for spreading misinformation about job creation, labeling it as an obstacle to progress.
“This figure has silenced those who are spreading false narratives about jobs,” Modi said while attacking the opposition for making unemployment a major issue in the Lok Sabha polls.
“Those who spread false narratives are enemies of investment, infrastructure development and the growth of the country. Every policy is betraying the youth and selling jobs. Now they have come to light because people are rejecting their lies,” the PM said.
Modi said skill development and employment are needed in the country and his government is working in that direction.
He said that Maharashtra has a glorious history, a beautiful present and dreams of a prosperous future.
The country plays an important role in Viksit Bharat because of its strong industrial, agricultural and financial sectors.
“The aim is to make Maharashtra a great financial center of the world and make Mumbai a global fintech capital,” he said.
“Our aim is to improve the standard of living of everyone and create the best quality of life. That is why efforts are being made to improve the connectivity of areas close to Mumbai,” the PM added.
The opening of the infrastructure works a few months before the state assembly elections.
The upcoming infrastructure projects in and around Mumbai will improve the city’s connectivity with nearby areas, ensuring better facilities as well as safety for women, Modi said.
The expansion of the metro rail network in the metropolis is taking place at a rapid pace, increasing from just 8 kilometers a decade ago to 80 kilometers today, while work on 200 kilometers is underway, the PM said.
In Maharashtra, the length of the national road has trebled, adding the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, which will act as the main east-west connector in the north of the city, as a good example of the balance between conserving nature and development.
The twin tunnels connecting Thane and Borivali will ensure that the distance between the two regions will be covered in minutes, the PM said.
The Coastal Road and Atal Setu have now been completed, the PM said, recalling the efforts of some to prevent the sea bridge.
But now everyone knows how useful it is, the PM said about Atal Setu, the country’s longest sea bridge connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
About 20,000 vehicles use it every day and about Rs 20-25 lakh fuel is saved and people take less time to reach Panvel, the PM said.
Railway transformation benefits Mumbai and Maharashtra, he said.
The redevelopment work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Ajni-Nagpur is happening fast.
New platforms at CSMT and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (two major junctions of the Central Railway in Mumbai), have been inaugurated and will enable railways to run 24-coach trains, the PM said.
The Center has also approved the Rs 76000 crore Vadhavan port at Dahanu in Palghar, which will generate 10 lakh jobs, the PM said.
