Congressman Byron Donalds (R-Fl) confronted ABC’s George Stephanopoulos about his continued race tactics during a discussion about Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity.
The exchange shows not only media bias but also a desperate attempt to divert attention from the real issues facing Americans today.
Kamala Harris often identified as Indian-American throughout her political career and even during her campaign for vice president. However, the fake news media, insisting on portraying Harris only as a black woman, tried to manipulate her identity to fit their narrative.
Stephanopoulos was more interested in defending Harris’ racial identity than talking about his record as Vice President.
George Stephanopoulos: “You’re just repeating a slur. If it doesn’t matter, why do you all keep asking her identity? She’s always been identified as a black woman. She’s biracial. She has a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. She’s always been identified as both. Why do you ask that?”
Byron Donald: “Well, George, first of all, this is a conversation on social media right now. There are a lot of people trying to figure this out. But again, that’s a side issue, not the main issue. The main issue—”
George Stephanopoulos: “Sir, wait a minute. You just do it. You just do it again. Why do you insist on asking about her racial identity?”
Byron Donald: “George, now that you’ve yelled, let me answer. (Trump) talked about this on stage yesterday in Atlanta for what? Two minutes? He spent more than 35-40 minutes after his recording, talking about how radical his senator is. He is the most liberal senator in the United States Senate. That’s the reality.
He talked about the job he did as Vice President of the United States, a job, I might add, that has failed the American people. I know you like to reminisce about these things being said jokingly or seriously for a few minutes, but what you don’t do is Kamala Harris’ litany of failures. That’s what you didn’t cover, George.
Stephanopoulos continued to interrupt and steer the conversation back to the issue of Harris’ racial identity, ignoring the Donalds’ attempts to discuss Harris’ political record and the broader impact of the Biden-Harris administration.
George Stephanopoulos: “So questioning people’s racial identity for a few minutes is okay?”
Byron Donald: “George, I want to say it again, he brought it up. AP was the one who wrote the headlines when he first came to the United States Senate. He didn’t talk about him being Black, he talked about him being the first Indian-American senator. AP brought it up.
I mean, George, we can talk about all these things, but none of them matter to the American people. What matters to the American people is whether we will have the same policies of the Biden-Harris administration that harm the American people, or whether we will have the policies of the Trump administration, which puts America first, less. inflation, prosperous America, regardless of race, regardless of color, regardless of creed, and foreign privacy that keeps America safe?
That’s a really important fact because this problem will come and go. American lives are what will last, and that’s what matters most.

Despite the Donalds’ clear focus on policy and leadership, Stephanopoulos continues to push the conversation around identity politics, reflecting the mainstream media’s strategy of diverting attention from substantive policy failures.
George Stephanopoulos: “If it doesn’t matter, I don’t know why you keep repeating it, why the President keeps repeating it, why the one who introduced the President yesterday keeps repeating it.”
Byron Donald: “George, it’s not really me who keeps repeating it. George, you bring it now. I understand why you brought it up.
George Stephanopoulos: “You’ve done it three times. Every reply you give me, you repeat the slur.
Byron Donald: “You asked me, George. That’s why I turn to you now. George, you asked me three times. I answered, but I also know what you mean by this slur.
George Stephanopoulos: “Every time you repeat a slur. I mean it right. You can’t say it’s wrong.
Byron Donald: “George, so what are you saying – I want to get off this topic because this is not the only thing that happened. But George, now you’re saying that the AP is the one who slurred Kamala Harris? Because that’s a fact.
You can go on the internet and see the clip, George, if you want, or we can talk about this right now. I’d rather talk about the future of our country because Americans are struggling. The American people need serious policy decisions, and they need serious leadership on the world stage. Kamala Harris has yet to prove that she can do it. Donald J. Trump has proven that he can do it.
The interview ended with Stephanopoulos doubling down on accusations, completely ignoring the substantive points raised by Donalds. This exchange highlights the mainstream media’s focus on identity politics while ignoring the issues facing Americans every day.
