Blake Lives opened up about how he sometimes struggles to give equal attention to his career and his life. “When you’re at work, sometimes you feel guilty for not being in your personal life when you’re at work,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Monday, August 5. “And, when you’re at work, you feel guilty for being interrupted by wanting to be in your private life.”
The balancing act is something Lively, 36, shares with him It Ends with Us costar Jenny Slate. “We both really enjoy our personal lives and we enjoy our work and we enjoy our work, and we take it seriously and work hard,” he said. “And we immerse ourselves in our work. But who we are is defined by our personal life more than our work, and we can be both at the same time.
Lively has four children – daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, and son Olin, born in 2023 – with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Slate, 42, shares daughter Ida, 3, with her husband, Ben Shattuck.
