The Bipartisan Congressional Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump (Task Force) recently made news regarding the investigation conducted by the federal agency tasked with not only investigating the assassination attempt, but also providing important documentation to the Task Force. coerce. Apparently, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is not cooperating.
The Task Force sent a letter to ATF in early October requesting numerous documents related to the Bureau’s part in the investigation and its work with other federal law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Secret Service.
ATF responded to the Task Force with narratives and no documents, forcing the Task Force to withdraw ATF by explaining its frustration this way, “to date, ATF has failed to produce a single document responsive to the Task Force’s requests.”
Why? Why didn’t ATF provide congressional investigators with the requested documents? Of course, the federal agency’s refusal to cooperate with the Task Force led the top brass to conclude that the AFT was hiding information, which in turn led the top brass to ask why.
AbleChild has covered the assassination attempt since day one and has been critical of the investigation conducted by the Task Force. There are simply too many important questions that the Task Force has not asked. The latest request for documents from the ATF is another failure of the Task Force.
While AbleChild can appreciate the request of the Task Force for documentation, it would have been reassuring to know that Congressional investigators also questioned the ATF about the explosion found in the White Van near the Butler fairgrounds the evening of the shooting.
Unfortunately, the Task Force has yet to ask any questions about Van Putih.
Remember that on the evening of July 13thTha white van that was left on the side of the road near the fair market was raided by law enforcement with “officers searching for a white vehicle that was riddled with explosives after being led to the location by a K9 unit.”
The search was recorded for posterity by local resident Billy Thoma who reported “we could hear the dogs running around the fields. They picked up a scent apparently and that’s what led them to the van.
A video recorded by Thoma shows a white van, the back door of which appears to have been damaged by primer, being taken away by a tow truck on Sunday morning.
So, a white van with explosives (which was removed) was at the scene of the assassination attempt? Why didn’t the Task Force use a white van? This white van with explosives will, of course, be under the ATF.
Even if the Task Force only asked for clarification about the white van that was reported and recorded, at least the Americans were able to eliminate the second perceived threat.
It was later reported that the white van had an Arizona license plate, which one could surmise could not belong to Thomas Matthew Crooks, the alleged shooter. So who owns the white van? Are fingerprints taken? Whose fingerprints were found?
Was the owner of the white van questioned by the FBI or ATF about the explosives they found? What is the explanation for the second car with explosives? Is there more than one killer? Why was the white van abandoned because the owner died?
These questions are unnecessary if the Task Force would at least refer questions to the ATF and FBI. And until such time as congressional investigators even think about the mysterious white van, AbleChild will continue to be critical of the Task Force’s efforts.
Ultimately, AbleChild believes that all information should be public, including all mental health records of the alleged shooter. So far, the Crooks family has said nothing … not even an apology to the families of those killed and injured.
The Crooks family has lawyers and, therefore, the investigation (including the Task Force) the whole public needs to know what happened in Butler and why.
To think that the Congressional Task Force didn’t know about the white van and its meaning is beyond comprehension. What is the problem?
