The 29-year-old told reporters he had been in prison on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, for seven years for kidnapping and harming a man who owed money to his friend – but he left seven weeks earlier than planned. .

Asked on Tuesday whether the prime minister was happy to raise criminals, a spokesman for Sir Keir said: “No, the PM is showing public anger.”
Dowling-Brooks is among about 1,100 inmates expected to be released on Tuesday in an attempt to ease overcrowding at the prison.
On the same day, Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood launched a review of sentencing, which will give offenders more punishment outside of prison.
The review, led by former justice secretary David Gauke, aims to explore tougher sentences outside prison while ensuring there are places to arrest the most dangerous offenders.
Ms. Mahmood said BBC Radio 4 Today: “We need to expand the use of punishment outside of prison, and I am very clear that we need to maintain public trust. People still need to know that you are punished for breaking the law in our country, even if you are not held in custody. There are real consequences, if you still feel the loss of freedom.”
Tags have been used to track and monitor offenders serving sentences outside prison but the review will consider bringing in new technology used in other countries, he said.
Asked if he was taking a new approach and wanted fewer people to be jailed in the UK, he said the rate of increase was “nobody can claim”.
The prison population is growing by 4,500 a year and the Government has committed to creating 14,000 additional prison spaces.
It is also looking to foreign jurisdictions for ideas, such as in Texas where the authorities have used good behavior credits.
Punishment outside of prison may include the use of watches or apps that “nudge” offenders to ask if they have complied with their license requirements, in addition to sobriety tags or house arrest curfews.
Community alternatives and fines instead of prison time will also be explored, as will the impact of short custodial sentences.
The review will also consider whether more can be done to address the growing number of offenses and crimes committed against women and girls by making sentences that reflect the severity of the offences.
Ms Mahmood announced plans in July to temporarily reduce the number of sentences inmates must serve from 50 per cent to 40 per cent as the Justice Minister said overcrowding had pushed prisons to “breaking point”.
The first release of around 1,700 prisoners from prisons in England and Wales began on 10 September. The latest installment. The latest installment. The latest tranche, starting from the conviction to include a sentence serving five years or more.
Ms Mahmood said the mistake that led to 37 prisoners being released as part of a scheme to reduce overcrowding had been “ironed out”.
“The issue has been sorted and has been resolved, and for the release we are doing now, this is not a mistake that will happen again,” he said. Radio times.
Recall rates in early release cohorts are “in line” with regular prison releases, he said LBC after the union of probation officers said “significant numbers” have been recalled for detention.
The prison is expected to reach critical capacity again in July.
The number of prison spaces fluctuates but is understood to currently be around 89,000 in total.
The findings of the sentencing review will be submitted in the spring of next year. The results of the examination will be done by March 2026 at the earliest.
