F1 next heads to the famous Sin City track for the second edition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the 22nd round of the 2024 season.
Max Verstappen is on the cusp of a fourth consecutive world championship after driving brilliantly in the rain at the final race in Brazil. With a 62-point advantage over Lando Norris with three races remaining, the Dutchman can clinch the title in Vegas if he finishes above the McLaren driver.
Lewis Hamilton will be looking for a strong performance after a weekend to forget in Sao Paulo, as his time as a Mercedes driver draws to a close before he moves to Ferrari 2025.
Verstappen won last year’s inaugural race in Vegas, while Charles Leclerc claimed second place on the final lap by overtaking Sergio Perez.

How can Max Verstappen win the 2024 title?
There are now just 86 points available in the next three races in Vegas, Qatar (including the final sprint race of the season) and Abu Dhabi.
At the end of the weekend in Vegas, there will be only 60 points left to claim.
It means that that Verstappen just finished above Norris in Vegashe will be the champion in 2024. The Dutchman will also seal the title if both drivers failed to score points.
Verstappen will also win the 2024 title if Norris did not beat the Red Bull driver by more than two points.
As a result, Verstappen will become world champion in Sin City if:
- If Norris was second and he was third with the fastest lap
- If Norris was third and finished fourth with the fastest lap
- If Norris was fourth without the fastest lap and finished fifth
- If Norris was fifth without the fastest lap and finished sixth
- If Norris was sixth without the fastest lap and finished seventh
- If Norris was seventh without the fastest lap and finished eighth
- If Norris was eighth without the fastest lap and he was ninth
- If Norris is ninth without a fastest lap or lower, it doesn’t matter where he finishes

PREVIEW: The Las Vegas GP is back – with the main ingredients that followed the F1 debut
When the fans walked away from the seats that they acquired expensively on the night of the Grand Prix of Las Vegas 2023, after seeing only eight minutes of cars on the track before the “manhole gate”, a question arose in the mind: how can the sport return?
But beyond all the fanfare that inevitably accompanied Formula One’s lavish return to Sin City last year, what really saved the inaugural event was the Saturday night race itself. We had overtakes – 82 in fact, the most of any circuit during a debut grand prix – we had a safety car and we had drama in the last lap. For a sport that is often very spectacle-oriented, this is the kind of drama that the action on the track can bring.

Lando Norris earns recognition after ‘defining moment’ in F1 title race
Lando Norris says he has been demoralized for a week after seeing the door almost shut on his bid for world championship glory.
Norris enters this weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix 62 points clear of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, with just 86 points remaining in the final three rounds.
