Former President Donald Trump said the next presidential debate should be moderated by Fox News, not “on Fake News ABC,” after President Biden dropped out of the 2024 race.
“My debate with Crooked Joe Biden, the worst President in the history of the United States, is scheduled to be broadcast on Fake News ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, in September. Now Joe is, not surprisingly, out of the race, I think Debate, with whoever he chooses by Radical Left Democrats, should be held on FoxNews, instead of the deeply biased ABC!,” Trump posted to Truth Social Sunday afternoon.
Trump’s statement came after Biden officially dropped out of the 2024 presidential race after weeks of pressure from Democratic allies to bow out and hand the mantle to someone better suited to defeat Trump in November. The call to get him out is over concerns about his mental fitness and the 81-year-old, who is under scrutiny after a disastrous debate performance last month.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to be your President going to vote again I believe it is in the best interest of the party and the country for me to step down and focus solely on doing my job as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden said in a letter sent to X Sunday afternoon.
WHAT’S IN FOR THE DEMOCRATS AFTER THE BIDEN CAMPAIGN SUSPENSION?
The president endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president shortly after the announcement. Harris is the most likely candidate to become Biden’s running mate, but has yet to become an official candidate at the Democratic National Convention next month.

“My first decision as the party’s nominee in 2020 was to choose Kamala Harris as Vice President. And it was the best decision I ever made. Today I want to give my full support and endorsement to Kamala as our nominee. This year’s Democratic Party – it’s time to come together and beat Trump,” Biden said.
CNN hosts the first presidential debate in June, with ABC News scheduled to host the second debate in September. Since Biden is now out of the race, Trump has asked for the debate schedule to be changed and Fox News to host the debate. It’s unclear who will debate Trump until the DNC certifies the nominees.
Trump and his campaign previously hosted two Fox News debates this election cycle, including a presidential debate for October 2, and a vice presidential debate for a date yet to be determined.
‘PROUD OF OUR PRESIDENT’: DEMS HEAP BIDEN FOR 2024 CAMPAIGN DECISION
Trump said shortly after Biden’s announcement that “Crooked Joe Biden is the worst President, by far, in the History of our Nation.”

“He has done everything he can to destroy our Country, from our Southern border, to Energy Dominance, National Security, International Standing, and more. He was destroyed in an Earth-Destroying Debate, and now the Corrupt and Radical Democrats are throwing him out. He unfit to serve in the first place, but the people around him lied to America about Complete Mental, Physical, and Cognitive Death and GREAT again!” Trump delivered.

The 45th president added in a call with CNN that Harris would be an easier candidate to beat than Biden.
Trump posted in a Truth Social post on Sunday afternoon that his campaign was “forced to spend time and money fighting Crooked Joe Biden” before dropping out of the race.
“Shouldn’t the Republican Party be paid back for the fraud because everyone around Joe, including doctors and the Fake News Media, knows he can’t run, or be President? Just asking?” Trump wrote.
The ABC News debate is scheduled for September 10.
