WWE stars Gunther and Cody Rhodes walked into the Bash in Berlin on Saturday as champions and left the same way the company held its first premium live event in Germany.
Gunther, who is from Vienna, main-evented the night in a match for the World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton. The 37-year-old Titan and “Legend Killer” had an entertaining match in front of a hot crowd that couldn’t decide who to root for.
Orton had a strategy with Gunther’s arm last night. WWE stars try not to get chopped in the chest as much as possible. But the Austrians still found a way to take down “The Viper.” Orton even put Gunther through the announcer’s table, but it was far from enough.

Gunther launched a sleeper-hold attack on Orton and the relentless pursuit was enough for Orton to die and ultimately lose the match. At the end, Orton and Gunther shake hands as the former acknowledges the latter with a sign of respect.
Rhodes started the match with a title defense against Kevin Owens.
Owens appeared to have reservations throughout the match about working on Rhodes’ knee, which Owens said he injured on the last SmackDown before the Bash in Berlin. When Owens had the chance to take the knee, he hesitated.
Rhodes and Owens battled for several minutes with both exchanging multiple finishers between each other. Owens tries a senton from the top rope, but Rhodes puts a knee in the way to deflect it. “The American Nightmare” then hit all three Cross Rhodes maneuvers to finally put Owens down and win the match.
Rhodes and Owens hug in the ring, though Owens is unhappy about losing the match.

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre had a match of the night.
Both sides battled hard against each other in a rope match, adding another chapter to an impressive eight-month rivalry. They both took everything they had in each other. McIntyre bloodied Punk at one point.
But there were no pinfalls, no count-outs and no submissions in the match. The winner must touch all three corner turnbuckles in a row. It took a bit for them, but in the end, Punk had the advantage.
Punk delivered three Go to Sleep finishers, took back McIntyre’s stolen bracelet that had the names of his wife and dog on it, and finished the walk around the square circle.
Punk then told Cathy Kelley that he had his eyes on Gunther’s title.
“I want honey, I’m coming for you sucka,” he said.
Two tag-team matches are also on the card.
The first tag-team match saw Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
Cargill and Belair showed their athletic abilities, somehow managing to get past the dominant teamwork of Dawn and Fyre, which was shown in the match. Cargill hit a German suplex from Belair DDT and pinned Dawn.
Cargill and Belair can be called tag champions for the second time.
Finally, the next chapter on the Judgment Day crack is written.
Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley defeated Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan in a mixed tag team match. Ripley had WWE fans going wild when she put Mysterio into a head scissors in the corner – a callback from when she first performed the maneuver a few years ago.
Ripley hits the Riptide on Morgan, rolls him up on the pretzel pin and the team is declared the winner.
The feud between the seemingly new Judgment Day and the Priest and Ripley and Morgan seems far from over. Finn Balor, JD McDonagh and Carlito all interfered in the match at some point, while Ripley would certainly be after the Women’s World Championship after losing it at SummerSlam.
