Justin Hartleyhit series Tracker offered by her husband, Sofia Pernaschance to reprise the role as Billie in season 2 – but are there plans for more appearances?
Trackerwhich premiered in February, introduced Hartley, 47, in the role of Colter, who travels the country helping with missing cases in exchange for a reward. Pernas, 35, joined the show one month later as Colter’s ex Billie who previously tricked him out of paying.
His one-off appearance left viewers wanting more, prompting Pernas to return on the Sunday, October 27, episode of the hit CBS series. Colter teams up with Billie to solve a case in her hometown, and by the end of the day, she’s thinking about her childhood trauma.
“I want to do something positive and lasting here,” Billie told Colter about facing her past. “I was young, but I knew what my mother was doing was wrong and I didn’t stop her. I loved and hated her at the same time.
Colter reveals that he also has a “dark family” secret but can’t share it with Billie. He even suggested they “don’t talk about it”, which opens the door to an unfinished conversation that Billie and Colter can address in the future.
“He had a great scene where he really opened up to her,” Hartley said TVLine during an interview with Pernas, 35, about the pivotal scene before it aired. “The way you play is very good. Your performance shows that you have never shared (this information) with anyone.
Fortunately for fans, this is not the only time Billie pops up during season 2. Hartley has made it clear that Pernas is set to return even more from here.
“He will always come back. We have some great stuff for them to do next year,” Hartley said deadline in May. “They’ll be back many times next year. We’re building this great group of actors (who) hopefully will be more excited to come back, because we’d love to play with them again. We have a lot of stories to tell with all (of them) ).
Hartley later exclusively told Us Weekly about working with Pernas, adding in July, “He is very good. I mean, if I had a choice, I would spend every minute with him. … He elevates the scene, and it makes my job easier, true. But yes, it is very good can work with him.
According to Hartley, the dynamic between Colter and Billie will continue to grow stronger.
“There’s bad blood, but it’s also like, ‘Are they going to fix it? Are they not? You know, can you trust them? I don’t know if you can,'” he continued. “I mean, he hasn’t proven that you can trust him, that Colter can trust him. So we’ll see how that goes. There’s a lot of, you know, a lot of room to work on that relationship.
Tracker airs on CBS Sundays at 8 pm ET. New episodes stream next day on Paramount+.
