The debate over the definition of “virgin code” is nothing new β but do the rules apply to Bachelor Nation? Come on us give you the facts and let you decide.
Fans of Scholar and Bachelor buzzing after Kaitlyn Bristowe a story about giving a fellow Bachelor Nation alum a “heads-up” about going on a date with an ex. While he didn’t mention names, it was pretty clear that he was referring to them Tayshia Adams β who Kaitlyn hosted two seasons of the ABC franchise with β and ex-fiance Tayshia, Zach Clark.
The Main Players
Kaitlyn was introduced in the 19th season of Scholarfinished as the second runner-up in the battle for farmers Chris Soules‘love. ABC then named him (and briefly Britt Nelsonbut that’s a whole other explanation) season 11 Bachelorette. Kaitlyn is engaged Shawn Booth in the finals of 2015, but he quit in 2018. He then dated and got engaged to Jason Tartikwhich appeared in season 14 of The Bachelorette. They ended their romance in the summer of 2023.
Tayshia made her first reality TV appearance Colton Underwoodseason 23 of Scholar in 2019. He then appeared in season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise before ABC tapped her to take over for Clare Crawley as the season 16 lead from The Bachelorette. (Again, us can explain it to you another time.) During the 2020 finale of season 16, Tayshia is in love with Zac.
Zac and Tayshia moved in together in New York City and quickly became a fan-favorite Bachelor Nation couple. However, in November 2021, they sparked speculation of a split when they deleted posts about each other online. They confirmed a month later that the engagement was off but never gave a reason for the split.
The Gist
In 2021, Kaitlyn and Tayshia were hired by ABC to host two seasons The Bachelorette. Three years later, Kaitlyn was spotted cozying up to Zac at a New Year’s Eve party. The twosome have continued to be spotted together sporadically, and when they officially went on the record about their relationship, Kaitlyn only appeared to remember Tayshia’s less-than-happy reaction to the idea of ββthe duo dating.
“I’m dating a guy from a franchise and I’m approaching a girl he used to be with. (He and I) haven’t spoken in months and, no, we’re not (friends). We might look like friends on the outside, but no,” Kaitlyn said on “U, Up?” podcast on August 25. “Thinking it’s going to be a situation where you’re going to say, ‘Well, I mean, I’m not in love, but of course I’m not going to say (no).’ It’s not. I don’t say, ‘If this is a problem, then I won’t.’ I’m just giving you a heads-up.”
Kaitlyn said she reached out to the woman via text. “I (wrote), ‘Hey, so-and-so DMed me and we’ve been talking. I know you’re very happy in your relationship, so I don’t know (whether) this is going to bother you or not,'” he continued. He called and was very upset. He said, ‘I always knew you were a bad person and you confirmed it. Your true colors are showing.’ Then, I hung up the phone and (thought), ‘Now, I’m just going to send a picture of her sucking dick.'”
Is it a Big Deal
It brings us back to the age old question, the real “girl code” and what happens when it breaks? And when it comes to reality TV, the rules are different? They say all is fair in love and war, but what about Bachelor Nation? Kaitlyn and Tayshia are probably two of the most popular and famous Bachelorettes in history and there has never been a Bachelorette vs. The previous Bachelorette as a past leader often described the group as “sisters.”
What People Say
Voice on the podcast “Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous – where the former Bachelor Ben Higgins and a four-time Bachelor Nation alum Ashley Iaconetti don’t shy away from tackling the headlines – the duo doesn’t buy any advice that Kaitlyn doesn’t think she says will get attention. (Kaitlyn admitted in a private Facebook group that she joked about “sucking the dβk” comment and didn’t think the story would make waves.) Ashley also brought up the idea that Kaitlyn’s double comment was a soft-launch for her. Romance with Zac. If that’s the case, it’s likely that the two will keep their relationship together if they’re worried about what people think.
Fans, meanwhile, continue to debate Kaitlyn’s motives and whether Tayshia really has the right to care about her former cohost dating Zac. After digging up past interviews where Kaitlyn has supported Tayshia, fans have questioned just how close the two women are.
What We Talk About
Without knowing all the details, it’s safe to say there is some truth to both Tayshia and Kaitlyn’s side of the story. On the one hand, why would Tayshia want another Bachelor Nation celebrity dating her ex-fiancΓ©? He’s not going to get a clean break if fans continue to link him to his ex through recent headlines from Kaitlyn. On the other hand, if it’s been years and she’s moved on (with Bravo alum Lukas Gulbranson), should Tayshia care about Zac dating?
It’s also possible that the real problem here is that Kaitlyn likes to share β or overshare β but often can’t handle the online discourse that surrounds it. In addition, us like to point out that Zac doesn’t seem to take much heat. We certainly don’t encourage anyone to take to the comments section, but why are we so quick to just analyze Kaitlyn’s actions? (Besides the fact that he’s the one telling the story publicly…)
What’s Next
Tayshia hasn’t gotten over the situation and based on her past actions, she probably won’t. When Kaitlyn and Zac were first linked in January, she posted a cheeky Instagram post with the caption: “Is someone talking?!??”” Zac didn’t understand the situation either. Kaitlyn, meanwhile, has reacted more tamely than in months, off commenting on her latest Instagram post. Time will tell if this brings Zac and Kaitlyn closer β or if it ends whatever happened between them.
