One hopes that grudges within the Democratic Party will eventually boil over and create open conflict.
If prominent Democrats continue to disparage President Joe Biden, then the boiling point may be coming sooner than expected.
In a fluff interview with Michael Strahan of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” another man, Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, made a lame attempt to exonerate the vice president from Biden’s disastrous record.
Strahan, who enjoyed a career in the NFL Hall of Fame before entering broadcasting, didn’t exactly raise the issue.
The interview took place at a restaurant in Emhoff’s hometown of Matawan, New Jersey.
Strangely, in response to a question from Strahan about how Harris would differ from Biden as president, the second man initially seemed inclined to insist on continuity.
On the economic front, in fact, Emhoff promised that Harris would “continue and expand” Biden’s policies on infrastructure, for example.
Emhoff then added some general comments about homes and small businesses.
Strahan follows the obvious question, but he also frames it in a way that shows his eagerness to paint Harris in a positive light.
“So, for people who might criticize (Harris) and say ‘Well, he hasn’t done that (in) three and a half years as vice president.’ Do you think it is unfair?” side pass rusher-turned-pseudo reporter asked.
“Yeah, he’s the vice president, not the president,” Emhoff replied. “The vice president is there as part of the administration, not leading the administration. So, as the president, he will be able to implement policies and plans and implement them.
So, according to Emhoff, Harris will continue the policies of Biden, but he does not blame his failure. Classic Democrat double talk.
Then, in another example of hard-hitting journalism, Strahan moved on to an indecent question about “masculinity” instead of pressing Emhoff about his apparent ambivalence toward Biden.
Readers with a penchant for nonsense can watch the entire interview below. The segment proper starts around 4:00.
In truth, Emhoff could not exonerate his wife from the president’s records.
For example, Harris boasted of being “the last one in the room” during the decision-making process that led to the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.
In addition, Biden chose the vice president “border tsar”, another role that failed miserably.
But at a deeper level, the question of anger remains.
During last week’s presidential debate, former President Donald Trump made a revealing comment about how Biden “hated” Harris.

And — for all his faults — who can blame the president?
After all, an internal coup orchestrated by party elites forced Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election, pushing Harris to the top of the ticket.
The report suggests that the coup has fueled Biden’s hatred of those responsible, including former President Barack Obama.
Meanwhile, last month, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared to bristle at the suggestion that Harris would oust Biden. The president himself had a similar reaction.
Thus, curiosity arose last week when, the day after the debate, Biden wore a red “Trump” hat in front of firefighters in Pennsylvania.
Biden almost certainly meant it as a joke. In fact, it was one of those rare good moments.
Still, the Harris camp’s treatment of Biden, even in the best interviews, is a subtext for the 2024 election.
And the story may have another chapter or two before it reaches its conclusion.
