Celebs Go dating viewers have been left fuming after Helen Flanagan admitted she has a boyfriend.
Former Coronation Street and I’m A Celebrity…Enter Me! star, 34, is looking for love in the latest season of the dating series after splitting from long-term partner Scott Sinclair two years ago.
However, in the latest episode of the Channel 4 series, Helen revealed that she was not really happy with the men she was meeting.
“It’s been difficult because I feel like I’ve given my heart and soul to the agency and I’ve been very honest – I’m a very honest person – but I met people at home at the beginning of the year,” she said. when asked by a dating expert, who seemed surprised by the admission.
‘I really want to join the agency because I feel like, because I’m in a long-term relationship and I don’t have dating experience, and I really want to do this for myself and grow and find out about myself, but it’s very difficult because there are people at home the one i love.
‘It’s been really hard for me now, because unfortunately I compare everyone and it’s really hard now when I’m dating.’
Seemingly less than impressed, dating expert Anna Williamson asked why Helen hadn’t told her about the fact she ‘had a boyfriend’, who last week was revealed to be ex-pro footballer Robbie Talbot, 44.
After being asked by Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn why she feels the way she does now, Helen said that her feelings ‘just keep getting stronger and stronger’ and she can now see a future with the person in question.
“I think I’m in love with him and now it’s really hard,” she said.
Expert Paul Carrick Brunson explained that he was quite annoyed with Helen, calling her a ‘lie’ and a ‘waste of time’.
Defending herself Helen then suggested that she could bring her boyfriend in But experts said they need to consider it, especially after cheating on her.
Tuning in, many viewers were angry.
‘Not impressed at all! Not even a single, not original and clearly there for the limelight…’ Julia posted on Instagram.
‘Hun just said you want to be on telly again,’ Dawn quipped.
‘He’s not being honest that he wasn’t clean in the first place,’ added Nic.
Meanwhile Sara wrote that Helen was ‘wasting a point in the agency’.
Others like Paul’s approach to ‘take no prisoners’ and share their thoughts about Helen covering up her partner.
When watching Helen fess up, fellow celebrities on the show seem to be taken aback but laugh it off the bombshell, with Marriage at First Sight’s Ella Morgan jokingly labeling Helen ‘absolute player’.
In the previous statement to Metro.co.ukA spokesperson for Celebs Go Dating said that after the producers of the series discovered that Helen was not single, she was ‘asked to be transparent with her agent and fellow celebrities during the next day of filming.
‘According to the show’s guidelines, all participating celebrities must be single. After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner, Robbie, would meet with the agent to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date the public,” he added.
Her boyfriend will appear in the next episode.
It comes after Helen ‘broke up’ with Robbie at her birthday party on August 10, with pals saying she was ‘smitten’.
Celebs Go Dating is streaming on Channel 4.
