Donald Trump has confirmed that he is ready to declare a national emergency and use military assets to carry out his campaign promise of mass deportations.
In response to a Truth Social post from Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch about the report that happened, the president-elect wrote: “TRUE!!!”
As the last votes were counted from the November 5 election, Trump’s command of the popular vote had fallen below 50 percent and his mandate did not appear as expected.
However, as he continues to build his administration, Trump announced his latest nominee – “Warrior for Free Speech” Brendan Carr, who will be the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, the body that regulates the US media.
Trump has yet to announce his pick for treasury secretary but two new candidates will be interviewed at Mar-a-Lago today: former Federal Reserve governor Kevin Warsh and Wall Street billionaire Marc Rowan.
Howard Lutnick, the chairman of Trump’s transition team, and Key Square Capital Management founder Scott Bessant are the favorites for the role, but some are on the lookout.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has approved Ukraine’s use of American-made long-range missiles in its war against Russia, inspiring conservative protests.
Does Trump’s choice of Rubio mean an even fiercer US-China rivalry?
Donald Trump disparaged him as “Little Marco” and a “choke artist”, only to nominate him for US secretary of state. The incoming president even described Marco Rubio as “a strong supporter of our nation, a true friend to our allies and a fearless warrior who will not back down from the enemy”.
Rubio’s appointment as the world’s most powerful diplomat is likely to reshape American foreign policy toward allies and rivals alike—and addressing China’s economic, diplomatic and military rise continues to be one of his top priorities.

Even Matt Gaetz’s father was surprised Trump chose him to be attorney general
Gaetz, 42, is known as a MAGA firebrand on Capitol Hill who was instrumental in ousting former House speaker Kevin McCarthy.
He is also known to be the subject of a Justice Department sex-trafficking investigation and a House Ethics Committee investigation. He has never been criminally charged and denies the charges.
Some, it seems, see him as the head of the DOJ — and, as it turns out, that includes Gaetz’s own father.

Sean Duffy was appointed transport secretary
Donald Trump has chosen the former Wisconsin congressman and fellow reality TV star Sean Duffy as secretary of transportation.
The president-elect said in a post on Truth Social earlier in the day that Duffy is an “outstanding and well-liked public servant” who is “admired in the hallways” for his work with Democrats on developing US infrastructure.
“They will prioritize Excellence, Competence, Competitiveness, and Beauty as they rebuild America’s highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports,” Trump said.
“They will make our skies safe again by eliminating DEI for pilots and air traffic controllers…
Like Trump, Duffy actually got his start in TV, appearing on the MTV series The Real World and Road Rules in the late Nineties before winning office as a prosecutor in Ashland County, Wisconsin in 2002.
Check out the Trump 2.0 staff tracker here — now featuring Duffy, too.
