Donald Trump hit out at Facebook and Google after Facebook admitted an image of the former president after his assassination attempt was mistakenly censored by the social media platform.
‘Facebook just admitted it wrongfully censored Trump’s “assassination photo attempt,” and got caught,’ the Republican presidential nominee posted on social media on Tuesday.
‘Same as Google,’ he said. ‘They can hardly find any pictures or anything of this evil deed. Both faced a huge backlash over censorship claims.’
The GOP nominee argued it was an attempt to rig the election and wrote in all caps asking his supporters to ‘Go after Meta and Goggle.’

The post on Truth Social came after a member of Facebook’s communications team admitted an image of Trump raising his fist in Butler, Pennsylvania, after the shooting was accidentally censored.
‘This is a mistake,’ wrote Dani Lever on X in response to a post accusing Mark Zuckerberg of censorship.
‘This fact check was initially applied to a designated photo showing a smiling secret service agent, and in some cases our system mistakenly applied the fact check to the actual photo,’ he continued.
Lever said the issue has been resolved, and Facebook apologized for the error.

Separately, internet usage in the past few days has also questioned Google after a search for ‘Donald Trump’ brought up articles about political opponents in the news results.
A search by DailyMail.com found Trump’s website, X and Facebook pages and images listed immediately.
But when it comes to the top stories, the first article listed is ‘Harris • Donald Trump’ followed by other Trump-related article categories.
Some internet users claim their search only shows news favoring Harris over Trump.
A DailyMail.com search of Donald Trump on Google found Harris-related news articles coming up first followed by Secret Service-related articles related to Trump.
Google responded to the news allegations with an explanation on Monday.
‘These labels are automatically generated based on common topics in many news articles, and change over time,’ the communications team wrote.
‘A search for “Harris” may result in the Top Stories label “Harris • Donald Trump” because news organizations often include the terms together. You can see this happening in various topics, such as the Olympics, other public figures, companies and so on,’ he continued in a post on X.
Trump’s accusations mark the latest in a series of allegations by conservatives that have followed the tech giant accusing him of election meddling since 2008.
The son of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump Jr. also accused Google of interfering in the election over the weekend in a post on X.
He retweeted a pointed user whose Google search for the words ‘assassination attempt’ showed automatic population options for Reagan, Bob Marley, Teddy Roosevelt and others but no automatic population suggestions for Trump.
Google said in a statement that it is ‘working on improvements to ensure our system is more up-to-date.’
In a statement to the New York Post, the spokesperson also said ‘Autocomplete is just a tool to help people save time, and still be able to search for anything they want.’
On Sunday, Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) also questioned why Google was ‘searching’ for the former president’s assassination attempt.
They announced that they will make a formal inquiry to Google about the matter.
