Trump’s comments on Thursday came on the eve of Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris’ visit to the southern US-Mexico border on Friday.
“For four years, we’ve had the worst border crisis in the history of the world. There’s nothing like it, causing so much pain, suffering, and death on our land. The architect of this destruction is Kamala. Harris,” Trump told reporters at press conference in New York.
“If you look at the four years that have happened after being named border czar, Kamala Harris tomorrow (Friday) will visit the southern border that has been completely destroyed. Why is she now moving to the border, playing right into her hands. No one said, oh , gee, he’s done the worst job in the history of anything, not just on our border how he wants to fix the border,” Trump said.
“We just ask, why didn’t they do it four years ago? They didn’t have the plan, they didn’t have the talent, they didn’t have the ability to do it. friend Kamala Harris deliberately opened our border, helped destroy our country, our country has never been under siege like this ,” Trump said.
Four years ago, he said, Harris achieved the most secure border in US history with the lowest illegal immigration. “Those who violate our borders are being arrested, detained, and sent back home under the Trump administration,” he said. “But on her first day in office, Kamala Harris ended every single one of Trump’s policies of closing and securing the border. She ordered an immediate halt to the completion of the border wall. It’s almost done. We’re building hundreds and hundreds of miles of wall. , and she’s suspending all deportations, they did a catch and release on the entire southern border,” Trump said.
“He sent Congress a bill demanding amnesty for all illegal aliens, every illegal alien, even if they are criminals, murderers, drug dealers, human traffickers. He wanted amnesty for everybody. This is a radical leftist,” he said.
Meanwhile, at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Harris told his supporters that Trump is not a serious person.
“Donald Trump has a very different plan based on a very different vision of who we are and the needs of the American people. I have said this before and I will say it again. In many ways, Donald Trump is a man who is not serious. . The consequences of putting him in The White House is very serious,” he said.
“Look, for example, at Project 2025, a detailed and dangerous blueprint for what he will do if he is re-elected president. He wants to cut Social Security and Medicare; undo our climate investments and send thousands of well-paying clean energy jobs overseas country; and they want to implement Trump’s sales tax, a 20 percent tax on everyday necessities, which will cost the average American family an additional $4,000 a year,” Harris said.
Trump heads to Michigan on Friday to talk about manufacturing.
