Hathras Stampede: Yogi Adityanath is likely to visit Hathras on July 3
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to visit Hathras on July 3 after a stampede during a religious congregation in which more than 60 people were killed, a senior government official said. The official said the UP Chief Minister took stock of the situation around the clock. UP Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and DGP Prashant Kumar have been directed to the spot. A team comprising ADG Agra and Aligarh Divisional Commissioner has been formed to probe the cause of the incident. The report should be submitted within 24 hours, the UP Government said in a statement.
Women in the Chopra whipping incident refused to meet the West Bengal Governor

The Bihar government moved the Supreme Court on Tuesday, challenging the Patna High Court’s directive to ‘set aside’ the increase in state reservation for disadvantaged communities, from 50% to 65%. These are quotas for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), extremely backward classes (EBC), and other backward classes (OBC) in government jobs and educational institutions. The Bihar government’s appeal before the top court was filed through lawyer Manish Kumar. “Yes, the state government has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court today and our lawyer Ayush Anand has also filed a caveat in the court to hear our side,” Patna HC senior lawyer Dinu Kumar, who represented the petitioners against the quota hike, told The Hindu.

The IAF chief inaugurated the newly established weapons systems school

This follows the agreement to create a new Weapons Systems (WS) branch in 2022. “The new branch will have four streams; the flying stream to operate weapons and systems on air platforms like the Sukhoi-30 MKI and C-130J; the remote stream to operate remotely piloted aircraft ; mission commanders and operators for Surface to Air and Surface-to-Surface weapon systems, and intelligence streams to handle space-based intelligence and imagery,” the IAF said in a statement.
Jaishankar represented India in place of Modi at the SCO summit in Kazakhstan

Israel pounds Gaza after the evacuation order
