Historic shoe retailer Clarks is closing two more stores this month.
The company will close its store in March, Cambridgeshire tomorrow and its branch in the North Yorkshire town of Gowthorpe, Selby on June 14.
This follows the closure of several other Clarks branches up and down the country over the past few years.
The latest is on King Street in the Jersey capital, St Helier, which closed on July 27 after 24 years of trading, the Sun reports.
Earlier, in June, the Clarks store in Stroud pulled its shutters down for the last time.
In total, including the two upcoming closures, nine branches will close in 2024. In 2023 at least nine stores will be closed.
Staff at the Selby store thanked shoppers for their support over the years, the York Press reports.
He said: ‘We would like to thank our loyal customers who have shopped with us in store, and we will be delighted to continue serving our full range of products online and in the Clarks store in York, Monks. Cross and Wakefield.’

The pair’s first product is a slipper made from pieces of sheepskin.
Another closure on the high street
Clarks is not the only retailer to close a number of branches over the past few years.
Pharmacy chain Boots is closing around 300 stores this summer as part of a massive cost-cutting exercise.
Walgreens Boots Alliance, Boots’ US parent company, said in its financial report last June that it would close ‘up to 650’ stores over the next 12 months.
The plan is now slightly behind the planned schedule.
Last year Wilko went into administration, with all stores closing, but the brand was later bought by CDS Superstores, which owns The Range.
Six new Wilko stores have since opened, with branches in Plymouth, Exeter, Luton, St Albans, Rotherham and Poole.
There are reportedly plans to open about 300 more.
Meanwhile, the Body Shop announced it was closing 75 stores in February after going into administration, while Ted Baker is closing all 31 of its stores this year.
