The FBI is investigating a second assassination attempt against Donald Trump in just two months.
The former president was brought to safety on Sunday after multiple shots were fired around him while playing golf at a club in West Palm Beach.
A suspected gunman was arrested after a terrifying incident at the Trump International Club almost exactly two months after the gunman tried to take out Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump confirmed in a statement about an hour after the incident that he was ‘safe and sound’ and did not want rumors to ‘start spiraling out of control.’
A Secret Service advance team of the 2024 Republican nominee’s overwhelming presence found the shooter at the tree line just two holes from where Trump was playing golf.
The FBI now said two hours after the incident that the attack ‘appears to be an assassination attempt on former President Trump.’

It is still unclear how many people were involved in Sunday’s shooting and whether the former president was targeted. It is also not known if the suspect ever fired a gun or if the shot came from the agent who directed the threat.
But just the report of the shooting near Trump raised eyebrows as several investigations were conducted into a shooting in Pennsylvania earlier this summer that left two dead, including the shooter, and two critically wounded.
