After briefly attending Washington State University, Rodman, 22, was selected as the second overall draft pick for the Washington Spirit. At just 18 years old, Rodman became the youngest player ever drafted, and went on to win the 2021 US Soccer rookie of the year and Young Women’s Player.
Rodman is determined to make a name for himself beyond his father, a Basketball Hall of Famer and accomplished NBA player. Dennis Rodman.
“People know Trinity Rodman sometimes before Dennis Rodman now,” he told ESPN in June 2022. “That’s really good for me. I’m not trying to overcome what he’s done, I just want to build my own story, and I think that I did a very good job.

Trinity Rodman started playing soccer at the age of 4
Trinity has been perfecting her craft for as long as she can remember. He was born into a family of athletes: his father played in the NBA, his mother, Michelle Moyerran track and field and played softball through high school, and her sister, Dennis Rodman Jr., played basketball at the University of Southern California. Trinity also played basketball in her youth before choosing to focus on her soccer career.

Although his father was a prominent public figure, Rodman was raised primarily by his mother. Moyer raised Trinity and her brother in Newport Beach California, living separately from Dennis even before the divorce. Moyer told the Los Angeles Times in July 2023, her ex kept her and her children “at a financial and emotional distance.”
“People don’t have a clue, they don’t have a clue,” Moyer told ESPN in June 2022. “It’s a roller coaster where you have money, you don’t have money.”
He is a Children’s Book Author
Trinity is releasing a children’s book in partnership with Adidas in March 2022. Get Up and Kick It published after a career-defining freshman year, inspired by his journey to “pave a unique path,” and learn to “seize each day as it comes.”
“This is a ‘wake up’ book to encourage children from all walks of life to see the incredible possibilities every day has,” she wrote on Instagram.
In a separate statement, he expressed his excitement for the book to “inspire the next generation to go out and pursue their goals and dreams, proving that nothing is out of reach if you’re willing to work for it.”
Trinity is dating NFL Wide Receiver Trinity Benson
Trinity and Benson became Instagram official in May 2024, with Trinity posting a photo of the two huddled together on a bench with the caption “Trinity squared 🫣😘.”
Trinity’s NWSL teammates responded to the comments, Angel City FC Alyssa Thompson said “He went straight to the hard launch.”

Trinity Rodman performs for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics
Trinity made its Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Games, sending the team into the semifinals after an extra-time goal against Japan. She’s the youngest player in USWNT history to score in an Olympic knockout game, and she’s just getting started.
“I had flashes of what happened,” Trinity said after the match. “I entered the area, I got a good pass, then I took it. It’s not that I didn’t have confidence in my shot, but at the same time, I didn’t believe it. It was the best moment of my career.
