Taylor Swift rocked it off with her fans in Edinburgh last weekend when they literally rocked the Scottish city itself.
Swifties danced so hard during the global superstar’s Eras Tour show at Murrayfield Stadium that it caused seismic activity from 6 km (or 3.7 miles), according to the British Geological Survey (BGS).
The night concert was the “most energetic” of all three shows played over the weekend with a movement of 23.4 nanometers (nm). However, the Saturday and Sunday events are not too far apart, only 22.8 nm and 23.3 nm.
Furthermore, the UK’s national earthquake monitoring agency reported that “…Ready For It?”, “Cruel Summer” and “Champagne Trouble” produced the most seismic activity each night. Honorable mentions include “Shake It Off,” “But Daddy I Love Him” and “Gaway Car.”
On Friday, “…Ready For?” generates 160 pulses per minute of activity, which transmits a power of approximately 80 kW. According to BGS, this is “equivalent to around 10-16 car batteries.”
While the generation was impressive, BGS reported that the vibrations were “impossible to be felt by anyone (other than) those nearby.”
Swift’s fans never seem to go astray – and they praised her after her time in Scotland.
“Edinburgh!!! You really blew me away this weekend,” she wrote on Instagram Monday. “Thank you for breaking the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland for the 3rd time in a row 🤯 and for all the ways you made us feel at home.”
Each show had a minimum of 73,000 people in attendance, according to CNBC. Swift’s three concerts are now the most attended in Scottish history.
This isn’t the first time the 34-year-old Grammy winner’s tour has caused seismic activity – Swifties danced so hard during a Seattle concert in July 2023 that they produced a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.
Swift began taking her Eras Tour to Liverpool, England, where she performed the first of three shows on Thursday night.
Thursday’s concert marked the 100th performance of the Eras Tour, while the “Love Story” hitmaker confirmed the Eras Tour will end in December after three shows in Vancouver.
“The celebration of the 100th event for me means that this is the first time that I admit to myself and admit that this tour will end in December. That’s how it is,” he noted.
He went on to describe the tour as “the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but the most joyful, the most rewarding, the best” that has ever happened to him.
Swift kicks off her Eras Tour in March 2023 by visiting North America before taking it overseas.
He has since released “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” plus his 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
