Singapore is the safest city in the world for tourists, according to new research by Forbes Advisor.
The study, which analyzes factors such as crime, health quality and risk of natural disasters, assigns a safety score from 0 to 100 – with the safest cities receiving the lowest scores.
Based on the study’s assessment, Singapore gets 0 points.
Of the 60 cities analyzed, this Southeast Asian city has the lowest natural disaster risk, and the second lowest health and infrastructure risk.
The study also analyzed digital security risks, defined as the ability to use the internet freely without fear of online attacks or privacy violations. Singapore is considered to have the second lowest digital security risk on the list.
After Singapore, the study ranked Tokyo and Toronto as the safest cities to travel to. Tokyo is considered to have the lowest health security risk, a testament to the quality of health services in the city, and the fifth lowest infrastructure security risk.
Japan and Australia are the only countries with two cities in the top 10 list, including:

The most dangerous city
Only one city received 100 points: Caracas, Venezuela.

Karachi in Pakistan was ranked as the second riskiest city in the study. Forbes Advisor ranks Karachi as having the highest personal security risk, as well as the fourth highest infrastructure security risk.
“Terrorism and continued violence by extremist elements have led to indiscriminate attacks on civilian, as well as local military and police, targets,” the US State Department stated in a travel advisory published in June 2023, giving the country a “Level 3” adviser. which cautions visitors to reconsider travel.
Myanmar’s Yangon is the third most unsafe city in the world to travel to, followed by Lagos in Nigeria, Manila in the Philippines and Dhaka in Bangladesh.
