BJP Reacts
BJP leader and Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda R Patil reacted to Parvathi’s letter and said handing over the land site was an acceptance of the fact that the award of compensation was not appropriate, just and fair for land acquisition.
“Meek Surrender or Loss of Control? Mrs. Siddaramaiah has now surrendered the 14 plots given as compensation in MUDA. Why such a knee-jerk reaction? Why did the site surrender and ask for cancellation of the sale deed after a complaint was filed? @siddaramaiah avare, you are now openly accepting the fact that compensation is not appropriate, fair and true for your land acquisition. The MUDA case is now an Open n’ Shut case of obvious abuse of power & nepotism,” he said in a post on X.

ED Books Karnataka CM in MUDA Scam
The announcement came hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked Siddaramaiah’s wife in the money laundering case.
The federal agency has filed an enforcement case information report (ECIR) to serve the order of the chief minister and others, he said. The ED has pressed a section of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to book Siddaramaiah in its ECIR, similar to the police FIR.
Lokayukta Police Register FIR
Last week, the Lokayukta police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Siddaramaiah, Parvathi, Mallikarjun Swamy’s brother-in-law, and one Devaraj, from whom Mallikarjuna Swamy bought land and gifted it to Parvathi.
The FIR was filed after a special court in Bengaluru ordered the Lokayukta police to investigate Siddaramaiah over allegations of misappropriation of 14 sites worth ₹56 crore to the chief minister’s wife by the Mysuru development authority.
WHAT DOES MUDA MEAN IN ENGLISH?
In the MUDA site allotment case, it is alleged that a compensatory site was allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife in the prime area of Mysuru, whose property value is higher than the location of her land “purchased” by MUDA.
MUDA has given a plot to Parvathi under the 50:50 scheme in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land, where she is developing a house layout.
Under this controversial scheme, MUDA provides 50 percent of developed land to landowners in lieu of undeveloped land for housing layouts. It is alleged that Parvathi has no legal right over 3.16 acres of land which is in survey number 464 of Kasare village, Kasaba hobli of Mysuru taluk.
