Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo admitted on live television that the legal case against Donald Trump was politically motivated.
Speaking to Bill Maher, Cuomo said the attorney general’s case against Trump in New York would not have been brought had Trump not been president.
During the interview, Cuomo, along with RINO crybaby Adam Kinzinger, discussed a variety of topics ranging from the climate crisis to Russia’s alliance with North Korea. However, it was his comments about the legal challenges facing Trump that really caught the attention of the audience.
“The effort in New York, which (Trump) blamed, was the biggest fundraising bonanza,” Maher said, adding, “He’s behind Biden, and now he’s a little ahead.”
“The test is the biggest reason why people send a $5, $10, $25, whatever dollar check to Donald Trump. So I’m always with you (Andrew Cuomo) in New York, testing quiet money. I don’t think they should bring that,” he said.
Cuomo responded, “That case, the New York attorney general’s case, frankly, should never have been brought. If his name hadn’t been Donald Trump and if he hadn’t been president. I’m a former AG in New York. I’m telling you, that case would never have been brought.” brought in. And that’s what attacked people!”

This admission from Cuomo exposes the Democrats who are pursuing Trump as a political witch hunt. This is not surprising given the history of using legal mechanisms to undermine Trump’s presidency and potential re-election.
Democrats launched two impeachment proceedings against Trump during his presidency and launched a series of legal challenges after he left office.
The first impeachment in 2019-2020 accuses Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress over allegations of forcing Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. The Senate acquitted Trump of the charges.
The second impeachment in 2021 accuses Trump of inciting the uprising after the events of January 6. Although seven Republicans joined Democrats in voting to impeach Trump, the Senate again acquitted Trump.
Post-presidency, legal challenges against Trump continue to mount.
Timeline of collusion:
September 9, 2022: Biden made divisive comments about making sure Trump is no longer president, which many interpreted as a call to action against Trump’s political future.
November 7, 2022: Trump is teasing a major announcement, hinting at the potential in the 2024 election.
November 15, 2022: Trump has officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
November 18, 2022: Major events unfold that show a coordinated effort to target Trump:
- Matthew Colangelo, Joe Biden’s third-highest-ranking DOJ official, resigned and within days, joined Bragg’s office, a move that raised many eyebrows about its appropriateness and timing.
- On the same day, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith to oversee the federal case against Trump in a move that echoed other developments.
- Nathan Wade, who has ties to other prosecutors targeting Trump, spends a lot of time in the White House, more so than his direct ties.
December 2, 2022: Matthew Colangelo has decided to join Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, starting a new position on December 5.
Last month, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also inadvertently admitted that the relentless lawfare against President Donald Trump is not about justice; This is a strategic tactic to undermine the 2024 presidential campaign.
“Anyway, Trump did it in the South Bronx not to make a point but because he got the court. And the man practically has a legal version of the ankle bracelet around him, and he can’t leave the 5 boroughs because he always has to be in court,” he said.
“So it’s really a shame for him. And I look forward to the response from Bronxites every day who talk about how they feel coming to the background,” added the AOC.
This Democratic law, as the wording of the AOC itself indicates, is intended to limit Trump’s mobility and, by extension, his ability to campaign freely across the country.
