Selena Gomez is glowing. At the age of 32, the Disney star was previously the revenue award season for her work in “Emilia Perez”, the writer-director Jacques Audiard, a Spanish-language musical film that won the Jury Prize at Cannes in Perhaps the biggest collective actress award for Gomez and her friend Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofía Gascón.
With out giving a very large amount from far as a result of this film most seem to not understand the plot, the film follows a legal professional in Mexico Metropolis who becomes able to drug kingpin and household.
I caught up with Gomez at the film’s Los Angeles premiere Friday night at the Egyptian Theater.
If you’ve starred in Barney, have you ever imagined that you’d just be on the crimson carpet now being asked about receiving Oscar buzz for a Spanish-language musical?
I may not have believed you. But imagine it or not, even at that age, I could watch the Oscars every year with my mom. It’s too loopy to consider. However, I tried to jinx it. If anything, I’m just really happy. More than anything, I just really like people who accept this with an open mind and an open coronary heart. I am truly grateful for this expertise.
How does singing in the film compare to the singing you’ve done in your music career?
It’s quite a lot different. Clearly, I opened the album in Spain, and I really like performing and singing in Spain, but this is very uncooked. They don’t use auto-tune, so every part is very uncooked and real and it doesn’t mean that every part sounds very good, but it’s definitely good.
What was probably the hardest part of filming?
It’s Spanish for me. I wish I had extra time, but I am grateful for the help that I used to be able to be given, and I hope that some of it is accurate.
Which of the following movie styles should you do?
If this movie taught me one thing, I don’t think it’s style. I’m sure it will inspire filmmakers, actors, people, writers. I wonder if there is a world that might feel like genre-less. I want to try different problems.
Can you see yourself directing at some point?
No but. I have a lot to learn.
What about writing?
I wrote. I write for fun. I believe it is really very cathartic. And I like to write about my goals, but I also prefer to study there.
And you know what your followers are asking.
new music.
Yes!
I don’t have anything now, but I would say that music is a part of me. So, I don’t think it’s the right thing to do right now, but it might happen in my lifetime.
Would you rather have Madonna on your display? (Madonna was a surprise guest at the recent Emilia Pérez screening at the New York Film Festival.)
That’s right candy. He is very present. He really cried, and it felt really special.
