Scotland could be on the brink of history at Euro 2024 as they look to face Hungary in the final round of group matches in Group A.
Steve Clarke’s side know that a win will take them to four points, and with the top four third-placed teams qualifying for the last 16, victory over Hungary could be enough to clinch a place in the last 16.
Hungary, who sit bottom of Group A with zero points, know a win will give them a slim chance of making the next round, despite losses to Switzerland and hosts Germany.
So, with both teams knowing that there is nothing but victory, expect fireworks in Stuttgart as both sides will be staking their claim to a place in the last 16 of Euro 2024.

56′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Szoboszlai rampages forward and spread the left play, with Sallai finally taking and striking Ralston’s arm – but on the side and that never penalty. But another corner for Hungary.
This time a post to a nearby post and Scotland was enough.
Who will blink first here? They couldn’t be careful for 90 minutes, obviously not wanting to leave gaps at the back, but so far nobody has been able to score in the current set-up.

52′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
A word with the Hungarian boss Rossi now by the ref, who is very strict in his actions tonight.
Scotland have yet to get into the final third with any numbers – how long will Clarke give before thinking about subs?
Robertson set Adams far to the left and the striker cut to shoot high and wild – the most that the first shot of the game.
A reminder of Germany’s trail to Switzerland in another game – Sommer has been forced into an early save by Musiala as the hosts look to step things up.

48′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Sallai goes and shoots in the play, but does not make a big connection – it saves the action for Gunn. Hungary has come out faster and more adventurous looking first in this half.
McTominay thinks he’s won the ball in the corner of the Hungarian box but the ref disagrees and not only is it a foul, it’s a card – he’ll be suspended for the last 16 if Scotland go through.

46′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Right – we’re running again and there are no subs for both sides. With no goals so far, the draw was not good for either team. Both should be done, hopefully the quality and tempo will increase significantly.

Picture from the end of the first half – the order for Schafer and Orban near the phone, pressing the bar.

HT – Switzerland 1-0 Germany
The hosts are behind at the break after Ndoye’s opener. Andrich’s attack was dismissed earlier.
As it stands, Switzerland are top of Group A, Germany second. Scotland are third but only two points, which is not enough.

HT – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Szoboszlai fired a left-footed shot at goal with the last action of the half, but it kept going. And the whistle, half the game over and done with. Half Scotland’s chances of making the last 16.
Not a real threat from them despite lots of early possession; Hungary had a strange opening through set pieces but with both teams needing to win, it held Scotland 0-0 Hungary.

45′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Schafer and Hendry were both concentrated in the middle of the field. very nice to see that. third order for the Magyars tonight.
McKenna went up for a try and headed goalward from a dinked cross but it was off the shoulder and easy for Gulacsi.

42′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Orban must count! Szoboszlai hits a free-kick over the wall and the defense and Orban has raced in behind – he denies Gunn from just four or five yards, but it hits the crossbar and bounces!
Great opportunity, best game so far for either country.
In the last few minutes before the break.

40′ – Scotland 0-0 Hungary
Bagpipes came back out in the stands as the fans tried to urge the Scots back upfield once more.
Good work between Ralston and Adams but the cross does not sit well for McTominay to take a shot at goal and at the end of the second cross McGinn fades through to the goalkeeper. Adams gave another free-kick away at the other end for a high boot.
Celebration for Switzerland. It’s all been a bit attritional between Scotland and Hungary so far.
