Schneider’s new feature is a market first, providing AI-optimized energy management for the home’s two biggest power loads – the water heater and the electric vehicle charger – through a single app, Wiser Home. Wiser Home is Schneider Electric’s home energy management solution that provides energy monitoring, control, and optimization. The new feature, developed entirely in-house by Schneider Electric, optimizes energy bills through automatic load management and predictive energy consumption scheduling that matches the user’s lifestyle.
As a predictive algorithm, the AI-powered feature learns from data and preferences of user habits, real-time weather forecasts, tariff data, power contract limits and solar production capabilities to optimize energy savings by replacing the two largest power loads at home. These features are based on proprietary technology developed in-house by Schneider Electric; all user data is stored and managed by Schneider without external data transfer so users can be sure that their data is safe.
Buildings account for 37% of global operational energy and process-related CO2 emissions, with housing accounting for about 20%. As more people tackle home emissions through electrification and New Energy Landscape technologies, solar panels, EV chargers and heat pumps, home energy management systems are becoming more complex than ever. In addition, there are dynamic tariff increases aimed at discouraging off-peak energy consumption as energy prices rise to record levels. Faced with this complex reality, Schneider’s new AI-powered solution overcomes the mental burden of homeowners when aiming to optimize energy use and reduce energy bills.

The feature can identify and anticipate valuable times to save EV chargers or heat water tanks thanks to weather forecasting and dynamic rate capabilities. It can coordinate EV charging and water heating with precious time while considering daily needs, for example, travel time and distance or daily amount of rain for family members, to ensure that EV and hot water are ready when needed. .
Homeowners can control how AI features are deployed in their home. Schedules and forecasts can be easily adjusted to either pause to avoid wasted energy consumption during holidays for example, or scheduled consumption can be suppressed to immediately start EV power or water heating.
The new feature mainly benefits households with solar panels. AI algorithms learn from solar energy production and use weather data to estimate the availability of solar production and take this into account when planning how to shift loads throughout the day, including those that are open when energy is produced.
In a laboratory test of this AI solution carried out by Schneider, owners of houses with solar panels saw annual savings of between €400-500, and houses without solar panels achieved savings of between €100-150. This simulation is based on French market data, considering two loads – EV charger and water heater – and two sources – grid and solar. Actual savings may vary from estimated savings depending on home installation and energy provider.

Michael Lotfy Gierges, Executive Vice President, Residential & Distribution Division, Schneider Electric, commented: “By recording energy costs and recording temperatures, homeowners are looking for tools and technologies that can help them manage energy consumption and reduce energy bills. Artificial intelligence provides optimization a new level that empowers homeowners to be more efficient and save money, without compromising on comfort.
Mr. Gierges added: “Here at Schneider Electric, we are proud to be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that help drive efficiency and electrification, with guiding principles to work towards a more sustainable future. Our new AI feature is a prime example and fulfills the needs of consumers real to simplify the management of optimal household energy consumption.
This new feature is available to Wiser Home users in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, and Austria who have a Wiser Hub, a Schneider Electric PowerTag energy sensor, a Schneider EV charger (EV Link Home Smart, Schneider Charge or EV Socket) and a Power micromodule ( water heater controller) is installed. Schneider Electric will continue to invest in this technology, launching it as a premium feature next year that places a greater load on the home to help the home’s energy use be efficient.
