Turning 40 is a big moment for anyone. In many ways, this is a point of reckoning, a time to stop and take stock – and set a course for the future.
At the age of 40, there are no more excuses: whatever path you take, whatever your success or failure is, it all depends on you. Life at 40 is your own responsibility, make it your own. There is no more blaming Mom or Dad for bothering you, as the poet once said, or hiding the experience of not being young.
Also, no more faffing around: you have more than half through three-score years and ten. Chop, chop: the hour has passed.

Harry told the BBC he’s ‘excited’ about turning 40. I’ll say it: he’ll inherit a reported £8 million from a trust fund left by the late Queen Mother.
For Prince Harry, his 40th birthday today marks the end of a process that began when he and Meghan left England for a new life in California.
It has been painful, protracted uncoupling. Bruising interviews have been given, memoirs have been written, dirty laundry has been aired. A bridge has been burned that may never be rebuilt. For better or worse, Harry was now well and truly his own man.
Of course, not all privileges are left behind. Some of the less severe ones, such as part of the £19 million trust fund left by the late Queen Mother to her grandchildren, still remain.

Although many tried to blame Meghan when the couple left England for California, I do not believe that this is true about her.

But it’s not just Grandma’s money that ties her to the auld country. A poll in the MoS now shows that a third of Britons support her returning to royal duties permanently. interesting. To me, this shows that many people still have a soft spot for Princess Diana’s childhood.
I used to be one of them, but I’m not sure anymore.
I was always very angry, not only for Harry but also for William, after losing his mother in such horrible circumstances.
And as much as I admire and respect Charles and Camilla, I can see the behavior of the couple during the difficult years of Charles’s marriage Diana could not have been easy for the boy, to put it mildly.
Understandably, Harry is a wounded soul. But suffering so much pain does not give you the right to inflict the same on others – or by doing so, your suffering should be lessened. Part of being an adult is realizing this, and trying to stop the cycle of unhappiness instead of perpetuating it.
Harry, though, had done the opposite. He has visited a terrible grudge against his father and the queen, and turned on William and Kate for no apparent reason except, perhaps, his decision to side with the King.
No wonder neither William nor Charles wanted to see him. In particular, Harry’s behavior is particularly toxic as the King and Princess of Wales are being treated for cancer. If he is the kind, wise soul that his supporters claim he is, in his heart he must know this to be true.
Prince Harry and Prince William unveiled a statue of their mother in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace on her 60th birthday.
However, while I was not disappointed with his ways and actions, I partially understood why he wanted to leave. And even though many are trying to blame Meghan, I don’t believe they are right. It’s about Harry and his broken relationship with his family – and his desire to break the curse of his own generation. For that, I can’t respect him enough.
It takes great courage and determination to go against the expectations of people – and in Harry’s case, the country. What he has done is a testament to his strength of character. But he did it with malice and vengeance, but no.
Should he be thinking about ‘officially’ returning to England? I don’t think so. That would be a step backwards and mean all the pain was for nothing. He had to find his own way. His decision not to update his autobiography, Spare, is a step in the right direction. But he still has a long way to go to prove that he has a new role without exploiting his past capital.
Harry, I wish you the best birthday ever. May it be the start of a new and more positive chapter in your life – and for the entire royal family.
Be yourself, not Cindy II
Do the so-called ‘nepo-bayi’ (children of celebrities) seem to have no ambitions of their own? For example, Kaia Gerber, 23, looks so much like her supermodel mother Cindy Crawford, 58, that it’s hard to tell them apart – especially when she’s wearing the same clothes. Guaranteed to notice Kaia, of course. But it’s also just a little sad.

● The image remains in the past week in the presence of lags leering to leave the prison in the plan of early release Labor, celebrating with bottles of bubbly, fast cars and vowing to vote Labor for never again. All while Sir Keir Starmer removed the winter fuel allowance from almost ten million pensioners, many people were killed. What is the picture of this Government’s priorities.
● Predictably, one prisoner who was released early is due to return to court – on charges of assaulting a prison officer who gave him a lift to the station. Indeed, there is no good deed that goes unpunished in this world.
Is this true love?
Eamonn Holmes, 64, is a charming and wonderful man. But even the TV presenter’s closest friends may say she’s putting on weight with her 42-year-old new boyfriend. Is there perhaps more than meets the eye going on here?

Scottish Secretary Ian Murray called No10 cat Larry ‘the most miserable animal ever’. incorrect. The award goes to Cersei’s moggie, who had to share space with my new baby rescue kitten. Having just got rid of one malodorous teenage boy, I now find myself saddled with the same feline. Liquefied gases should be prohibited. He is an Egyptian Mau, apparently similar to a Lamborghini cat. We have changed our name to Chairman Mau.
