Sarah Ferguson I am over the moon to be a grandmother again.
After Buckingham Palace confirmed on Tuesday, October 1, that Ferguson’s daughter, Princess Beatriceexpecting her second child, Ferguson, 64, shared her happiness via Instagram.
Posting a series of sweet photos he took himself with Beatrice, 36, and Beatrice’s daughter Sienna, 3, Ferguson captioned the carousel, “GiGi / Very proud Mom today. Huge congratulations and hugs from my heart. Wolfie, August, Ernie and Sienna will pass the moon has a fifth member out of five aside 💜”
The Duchess of York’s Instagram posts also include a fun section that adds to the fun.
“Ms. Beatrice. Words cannot express the joy and excitement I feel as you and Edo prepare to welcome a precious addition to your beautiful family,” the passage, written in pink text against a photo of Beatrice with the young child. Sienna, read. “So Grandma again fills my heart with happiness and gratitude.”
The quote continued, “Watching you grow as a mother has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and now watching your family blossom even more is an absolute blessing. Our family is growing, and so is the love that surrounds us. I can’t wait to meet this little boy and share all the good memories we will have together. All my love.”
The last photo in the Instagram carousel shows Ferguson hugging Beatrice and Ferguson’s other daughter, Princess Eugenie.
Beatrice is married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at the Chapel Royal of All Saints in Windsor in July 2020. Edoardo, 40, also has a son, Wolfie, 8, with his ex-fiancé. Dara Huang. Beatrice and Edoardo confirmed through a royal statement that they will welcome their second child in “early spring” 2025.
Ferguson, who shares two daughters with her ex-husband Prince Andrewcontinued to live in the Royal Lodge in Windsor, which is the chapel where Beatrice was married.
She is also grandmother to Eugenie’s two daughters, August, 3, and Ernest, 1, who Eugenie, 34, shares with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. (Eugenie and Jack married in 2018.)
Ferguson, who remains cancer-free after being diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023 and then skin cancer a few months after undergoing a mastectomy, credits her children for helping her through a difficult time.
He told me Platinum Magazine in the July cover story of the outlet that “my children in particular have been very strong in support,” adding that he and his children call themselves “tripod.”
“We are there to prop each other up through thick and thin, and they have certainly shown that in recent months,” Ferguson told the outlet at the time. “The whole York family has come together, and I couldn’t have coped without them.”
