Ryan Reynolds has finally revealed his name the fourth baby with Blake Lives!
There, directing the crowd from inside the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in New York City, the 47-year-old actor let slip that he and Lively, 36, are now parents to James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, and Olin, 1. The first three children are all girls but they have not announced the gender of their youngest child.
“I want to start by thanking my husband Blake, who’s here,” Reynolds said while surrounded by his Deadpool & Wolverine co-stars. “I want to thank my children James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here. I hope, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing – that is, the content of this film – that will happen in your life that amazing.”
Reynolds — after getting a wave of laughter from the audience — continued, “I’m glad my whole family is here.”
This is the answer to the question that fans have been waiting for more than a year after the duo first shocked the world when Lively appeared at the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women Summit in September 2022 with a major accessory – a baby bump! After a scary interaction with the paparazzi – which Gossip girl the actress detailed on her Instagram — the couple then understood silently to their children.
However, in February 2023, fans quickly realized that Lively was no longer sporting a baby bump in a picture she posted to Instagram. However, she did not know the baby’s name, date of birth and sex since then.
Hilariously, Reynolds said Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb at Today earlier that year they were actually waiting for their good pal, Taylor Swift, to pick out the baby’s name. The 34-year-old crooner has been working on naming his three daughters – James, Inez, and Betty – into lyrics for 2020. folk tales song, “Betty.”
“We’re definitely waiting for Taylor to tell us what the kid’s name is,” Reynolds said humor at Today. “We’re still waiting, so, Taylor, let’s get started, you know.”
In an interview with him at the premiere of If back in May, ET follows Reynolds about the young man’s moniker, asked what they are calling him while they wait for Swift to pick an official name.
“Oh, all the silent letters,” she laughed at the baby now known as Olin. “It just sort of sounds like a breeze blowing through at this point, which is really hard if you get angry at the child for something… Yes, it can’t.”
As for the type of baby, while Olin appears to be the name most commonly associated with boys and traced back to Scandinavian roots, each. BabyNames.com, Lively and Reynolds have yet to confirm that they are now parents to their first child. And hey, James is usually a boy’s name too, so you never know!
During the look at Today in November 2023, Ryan revealed that he did not know the gender of the baby before the birth. “I know the girls, so I expect that,” she said, “but I’m ready for whatever happens.”
He later to ET of them getting ready to welcome baby number 4, “We’re so excited. You know, we have to… You’d have to be an idiot to do this four times if you don’t like it. . It’s going to be nuts, but we very happy.”
Now, apart from being parents, the actor and actress are very excited about their upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends with Us. ET spoke with Reynolds on Monday from the premiere and she shared what it means to have her husband’s support to the new film.
“She’s amazing. She’s so smart, everything I do is in lockstep with her and now she just takes every step with me – sometimes scary steps, sometimes the ones that, more often than not, lead to danger,” Reynolds joked about Lively , who got married in 2012.
He added, “I’m so grateful to him. He’s so smart and funny and (he’s) so much fun, helping with all aspects of this film.”
Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters July 26 and It Ends with Us premiered on August 9.
