Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds had some special guests at the premiere of the new Marvel movie in New York City, Deadpool & Wolverine.
Jackman, 55, and Reynolds, 47, were joined on the red carpet by Reynolds’ husband, Blake Livesand a good friend Gigi Hadid for the highly anticipated third and final installment of Deadpool franchise on July 22.
The foursome were all smiles as they posed for the cameras, Reynolds wearing a classic black suit and crisp white dress as he held Lively’s hand and stood behind her. At It Ends with Us The actress, 36, stunned in a black and red off-the-shoulder jumpsuit, apparently nodding to Reynolds’ Deadpool character, whose costume is the same color scheme. The husband and wife duo added jewelry from Lorraine Schwartzand Lively also wore Ofira Jewels to complete her look.
Meanwhile, Hadid, 29, rocked a bright yellow crop top and a low-cut skirt with pleats that hit her knees, channeling Jackman’s Wolverine. They added a jewelry designer Alexis Bittar‘s signature paired bangles to accentuate her look, which was styled by Elizabeth Sulsel. For his part, Jackman remains timeless in his monochrome ensemble.
Earlier in the day, Lively shared some sweet sentiments about her husband’s latest movie, which hits theaters nationwide over the weekend.
In the post, Lively can be seen planting a sweet smooch on Reynolds, who is in character as Deadpool.
Another slide in the post shows Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star said to the camera, “Tell Deadpool he married a millennial girl in real life without telling me…” before listing a bunch of Y2K references that appear in the movie, including ‘NSync, Avril Lavigne“I’m With You,” Celine Dion and others. (Lavigne, 39, also attended the premiere.)
“Brb, I bought a milk pen to write your name on my hand @vancityreynolds,” she wrote. “My y2kids, I have to be competitive because @itendswithusmovie comes out in 3 weeks BUT when it comes to high school obsession, your feelings for delivering a baby, or about a good guy using feminism as a tool, your love for Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril burst, the choreography of certain boy band songs, from Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate the moment, even down to the fact that the color of our hair is determined by the season and the French way. It all looks like that… MY WORDS.”
She continued, “It’s really not encouraging women to realize all the ways @deadpoolmovie has influenced me which I’ve never been prouder of. And I’ve given birth 4 times.”
In the comments section of the same post, Lively also responded to a fan who asked if the longtime couple, who married in 2012, would divorce after hearing “rumors” of trouble in paradise.
“Haha they want it,” he replied to the social media user.
Before the film’s NYC event, Jackman and Reynolds appeared on Good morning America. He also “took over Times Square” and signed autographs for fans.
“We are really good friends. I have to pinch myself every day,” said Jackman about working with his friends GMA. “We took a photo… on the first day of (director) Shawn Levy, me and Ryan. We hugged and our foreheads touched and it was like don’t forget this moment and we had this opportunity. The film itself has come out better than the one I can imagine.
Reynolds added, “We knew this was lightning in a bottle, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Deadpool & Wolverine Premiere in theaters on July 26.
