HENDERSON, Nev.
“At the end of the day, reality is reality and it’s not reality,” Adams said Wednesday as the Raiders prepared for their season opener at the Los Angeles Chargers.
“I’ve probably talked to DeSean Jackson three or four times in my life, and I’ve never talked to him (about it), and I’ve never talked to the kids. .”
Adams said he was the only one who shared common feelings with his wife.
“And they didn’t leak anything, and put stuff like that in the media,” he said.
“If it’s not from the horse’s mouth, it must be the bull—.”
Jackson, who played with the Raiders briefly in 2021, appeared on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Aug. 27 and was asked about Adams, whose appearance on the Netflix series “Receiver” often shows frustrated players.
Combined with Adams missing time in OTAs and training camp and not playing during the exhibition season — he returned home with his wife for the birth of their son — and Jackson offered his opinion.
“I mean, you have Gardner Minshew, who was actually named the starting quarterback this year,” Jackson said. “This year is going to be tough. They don’t have the quarterback they want. I know they want to get a quarterback in the draft, and they can’t get a guy. So, obviously, they’re a failure that they have.
“This is difficult because me and Davante, we have talked and people, I hate to do it, I don’t want to be the person who is like, ‘Oh, DJax said this and said.’ But at the end of the day, it’s not fun, I mean, you go from Aaron Rodgers, then you come to the Las Vegas Raiders and now it’s not just Jimmy G (Garoppolo), you have a boy (Derek) Carr ‘t really come out … since the days of Fresno State, right, you think they will come back and do everything and it just doesn’t work out.”
Adams said he was close to making a video of himself denying Jackson’s claims but didn’t want to give it “attention” before being asked about it Wednesday.
“But as for me being tired or unhappy in this organization, it’s just a bunch of BS that’s just to trash everybody and get clickbait,” Adams said. “Everybody wants to see what Davante Adams has to say, and, you know, he’s mad in Vegas. If I was mad, I wouldn’t be here right now.
“I don’t think that all of you standing in front of me (so) got the courage that I want to leave this place. Put all of you there and that’s not reality.”
