EXCLUSIVE: Devon Mostert, wife of NFL running back for Miami Dolphins’ Raheem Mostert, stood by her comments earlier this week about Vice President Kamala Harris’ “ridiculous” attack on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis amid Hurricane Milton.
Harris took aim at DeSantis Monday when he told reporters he didn’t call her the day before the second hurricane to hit Southwest Florida in two weeks.
“People need support right now and playing political games right now in this crisis situation … it’s just irresponsible, and selfish,” Harris said of DeSantis on Monday.

Mostert took to her Instagram in time to praise DeSantis for doing a “great job” and continued to vocalize her support for the governor’s response to back-to-back natural disasters.
“I really don’t think Kamala’s comments about her add to it,” Mostert told Fox News Digital in an exclusive video interview. “They’re focused on taking care of Floridians, and that’s where the focus should be.”
“All our resources and time should be there,” Mostert said. “But he was standing on the tarmac complaining that someone wasn’t answering his phone.
STORM POLITICS: HARRIS says DESANTIS ‘Selfish’ for reportedly not answering hurricane-related calls
DeSantis fired back at Harris earlier this week, saying he had “no role” in the process and that he worked well and directly with FEMA and President Joe Biden.
Biden doubled down on that statement during a White House press briefing on Wednesday when Real Clear Politics reporter Philip Wegmann asked whether DeSantis should have accepted Harris’ call.
“All I can say is that I have spoken to Governor DeSantis,” Biden said. “He’s very friendly. He’s thankful for everything he’s done. He knows what we’re doing, and I think that’s important.”

Mostert said Harris’ attacks and Biden’s praise for DeSantis didn’t add up.
“It really affected me, especially because they were part of the same administration, but they’re both very different stories,” he said. “This, in my opinion, is selfish and irresponsible.”
Since the post, Mostert told Fox News Digital that he has received hateful and racist rhetoric from social media.
“This is dirty,” she said. “I really can’t imagine sliding into a DM or commenting on a picture of my family talking about the color of my children’s skin.”

Mostert said that, while he brushed off negativity and comments calling him a “white, snow-white, gold-digging wife,” there are limits to the tolerance of left-wing commentators.
“When you talk about my kids, you really cross the line,” she said.
“I know who I am,” Mostert added. “I know my heart. I know family dynamics. I know my husband. He thinks he knows me, and he knows nothing.”
Despite the outpouring on her Instagram account, Mostert said many other users praised her for speaking out on the platform. More directly, the reinforced support of NFL wives and girlfriends with reciprocal views is most important.

“There’s more to it than the media wants,” he said of another NFL pairing. “We all have each other’s backs in this sense.”
Mostert added that while she can’t speak for all women, she surrounds herself with collective perspectives.
“As a mother, I chose to protect my children in the future, so I don’t have a problem with this reaction,” she said.
“(Kamala Harris) is not equipped to be the next President of the United States,” Mostert said.
