This is the Olympic schedule on day 14 of the Paris 2024 Games with Team GB looking to add to their medal collection.
Katarina Johnson-Thompson took pole position at the end of yesterday’s heptathlon final, but is now trailing Belgian double Olympic champion Nafi Thiam after the morning’s long jump and javelin. Johnson-Thompson will need a big performance when he races for gold in the 800m this evening (19:15 BST) but he is the stronger middle distance runner.
Great Britain’s Toby Roberts has won gold in the men’s bouldering and lead competition, totaling 155.2 points in the two sections combined to beat Japan’s favorite Sorato Anraku into second place. The 19-year-old was third after the boulder round at Le Bourget Climbing Venue but produced a brilliant lead climb to 92.1 points, and the gold was sealed when Anraku fell just 10 points from Roberts’ mark.
Noah Lyles says the Olympics are over after battling Covid in yesterday’s 200m final. Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita will return to the track in search of medals in the women’s 4x100m relay final, while Louie Hinchliffe leads the men’s bid (final from 18:30).
In the velodrome, Jack Carlin looked to lift the Tokyo bronze in the men’s sprint (semi-final 13:41, final 17:00) before Neah Evans and Elinor Barker moved on to the women’s madison (17:09).
Grace Reid and Yasmin Harper contest the women’s 3m springboard final (2pm), and medals will be awarded in climbing, hockey, boxing, sprint canoeing, taekwondo and football, where Spain will take on hosts France in the men’s final (5pm).

Paris 2024 Olympics only Liechtenstein: ‘Andy Murray found me in the village, he wanted my pink’
Pin swapping is big business in the Olympic village. Each country has its own unique little pins and a popular way to spend time training and competing outside is to collect as many as you can by trading yourself.
Andy Murray is an expert. After amassing a large collection at the last Games in Paris, Murray began looking for the rarest piece that sent him hunting for Liechtenstein’s only athlete: the 20-year-old mountain biker Romano Puntener, one of almost 15,000 people who live in the 54.-hectare Olympic Village.
Murray being Murray, he found him. “I was shocked,” Puntener said. “It was after dinner when the mechanic and I took some bikes and rode through the village, and he saw me. I didn’t expect to meet him the first evening in the Olympic Village.

2024 Olympics: Say hello to the break
A bienvenue was afternoon for the newest Olympic sport – breaking. The only addition to the program at these Games, competing breakdancers – known as b-girls or b-boys – will compete in one-on-one “battles” navigated by the master of ceremonies (MC) to music played randomly by the disc. jockey (DJ).
Their routines, or “throws down”, are scored by nine judges, who each move a digital slider to the competitor they deem to have won each fight. Snoop Dogg, who has been a busy man in Paris in his rather lucrative role as an NBC correspondent, officially opened the show a while ago – here’s everything you need to know about it:

When Toby Roberts won gold, climbing solved its biggest problem of finding a home at the Olympics
Of the eight climbers gathered below the 15-meter wall in Paris, one is there because he has the ambition to win an Olympic medal.
For many, their journey into the sport generally begins out of natural instinct rather than competition. Great Britain’s Hamish McArthur, for example, could not stop clambering up a tree or hanging on a door frame as a child. Toby Roberts is not much different. He will try to escape his cot as a baby, before he is above the first wall in three years, also before the point that he knows what he is doing is a sport at all. Not too much of a fear, he wanted to climb as high as possible, because that was the only direction he could think of.

2024 Olympics: Diving – women’s 3m springboard final
Grace Reid went up for the last dive, and it was good.
It’s his best dive, it’s over 66, and it can affect the final ranking, but there’s no chance for a podium finish.
