“Nexttracker’s expansion into the base space helps reduce the complexity and risk of our projects,” said Stephen Jones, President of Renewables, Primoris Services Corporation. “Based on our experience, Nextracker offers a foundational solution that adds value to the industry as projects become increasingly complex with challenging subsurface conditions. The solution can streamline the design, procurement, and installation process while reducing the risk profile borne by EPC contractors and developers .We believe the industry will benefit.
With the rapid growth of the solar industry in recent years, more and more projects are being developed on sites that do not provide flat land with suitable soil conditions. Depending on the project site, Nextracker foundations can produce up to 50% less steel and up to 70% shallower embedment depth than traditional piles. This can result in reduced costs and contingency schedules, lower levels of pile rejection and remediation during construction, improvements in project development and construction time, and a safer work environment while reducing the impact on the original soil, creating a “light on the ground” approach. .
With more than 100 GW of trackers and more than 50 GW of compatible foundations delivered, Nextracker’s new foundation portfolio is designed to work seamlessly with high-performance solar trackers, offering customers a cost-optimized integrated solution that installs faster and reduces risk when dealing with ground which is complicated. conditions include expansive soil, soft, loose, rocky, or frost-prone.
