In an explosive segment, former Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson fired a left-leaning Australian media reporter during a Q&A session at the Australian Freedom Conference on Tuesday for ridiculous and misleading questions.
The exchange began with a reporter questioning Carlson about immigration and the Great Replacement Theory, accusing him of promoting the idea that white Australians, Americans, and Europeans were being replaced by nonwhite immigrants.
However, Carlson quickly shut down her insinuations, stating that she never claimed that white people were being replaced. However, he emphasized the concern for Native Americans of all races that his leaders had ignored.
Carlson quickly corrected him: “I said that Native Americans are being replaced, including black people, Native Americans … Their concerns are as real and true and alive to me as the concerns of white people whose families have been there for 400 years.”
Tucker continues to express concern that the country’s leaders have shifted their priorities from their own citizens to people around the world. He criticized this as immoral and said it led to the replacement of people born in his own country.
Tucker Carlson: I didn’t say it and I didn’t believe it, and I told you. Why don’t you just accept me? My concern is that the people who are born in the country are the main responsibility of the leaders. And as we have said before, when these leaders divert their attention from those who are responsible for taking care of people around the world, to prioritize them over their own citizens, it is disrespectful.
“He is being replaced. In my country, people are born in the United States, and the birth rate tells everything. They are not at replacement level. So the US population is growing because we are importing people from other countries.
Carlson further slammed the reporter for expressing his racist views. Although he denied calling Tucker a racist, he wasn’t convinced, because it was clear he was being sarcastic.
Tucker Carlson: But of course, you suggest it. My view is that people like to have children, and a functioning economy allows them to do so, and we don’t have them. So you have to fix the economy and fix the culture and make it so that people who want to have children can. You’re not just looking for a quick way to import new people. That is my position. If you think that’s racist, that’s your problem.
reporter: I never called you a racist.
Tucker Carlson: But of course, you suggest it. I have to say one of the reasons why people don’t like people like you in the media is that you never say what you mean. Your slurs are all by implication. You will tell me that the Great Successor Theory is racist or anti-Semitic, whatever. I’ve said what I’ve said now about 100 times in public. Hopefully, if I live long enough, I’ll say it 100 times. I’m being honest and real, not racist or scary. It is factually correct. It is not a theory; it’s a fact. The point of your question is, “You are a scary racist.” And I replied, “No, I don’t.” How about if I don’t lie about your question again, then I’ll answer it.”
In a particularly fiery exchange, the reporter suggested that Carlson’s views may have inspired the Buffalo shooting in New York where 11 American Jews were killed. However, Carlson quickly condemned the sarcasm, calling the reporter dumb and stupid.
reporter: This is the same theory, or that is to say, the idea, which has inspired the New York, Buffalo shooting where 11 American Jews were killed.
Tucker Carlson: Oh God! Come on! First of all –
reporter: This is the worst inspiration, one of Australia’s worst –
Tucker Carlson: “How do you make an idiot in the media? I guess it doesn’t pay either. Look, I’m sorry, I’ve lived among people like you for a long time. I don’t mean to call you an idiot; maybe you’re just pretending. But I’m totally I’m totally against the war in Ukraine, which is doubly supportive. I don’t. I hate mass shootings. I don’t think so no one is against any group. It’s not a fact. My concern is that no one can afford it. That’s it doesn’t inspire mass shootings. How dare you contact me with a lunatic who kills people?
“I mean, you know what I mean? It’s like, “Hitler wore those shoes. A lot of people say you look like Hitler. Can you explain those shoes? Hitler wore the same shoes. And you’re like, “I’m not related to Hitler.” That’s how I feel about your absurd question and dishonest.”
The conversation took a strange turn when the reporter then asked if Carlson supported gun control. He responded by asserting his belief in the right of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families. He also emphasized his opposition to disarming citizens so that the government would have a monopoly on violence.
reporter: So, therefore, you support gun control.
Tucker Carlson: what?! I thought it couldn’t be dumber but it is. No, I’m not advocating for disarming law-abiding people from self-defense, so the government has a monopoly on violence. I don’t think so. First of all, in my country, it is illegal, as you know. But other than that, it should be illegal in every country. People have the right to defend themselves and their families, period. That being said, I am against harming anyone, anyone.
Are you concerned about the war in Ukraine and the countless people killed every day?
I doubt you. Probably, “Putin is bad.” Me. I am Christian. I hate violence. I hate mass shootings. I have a gun in front of me and often in people when I’m in the United States, I’m proud to say, because I want to defend myself and the people I love against violence. The point is. I did not commit a crime. I don’t shoot strangers. I defend what I love. If you are against it, I will ask why. Why are you against that?
reporter: So you don’t think you are responsible for this hate crime?
Tucker Carlson: Sorry, I’m trying to be charitable. I try to be charitable. I was like, maybe you’re just pretending to be stupid. Now I am not acting.
