The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) electrified New York City on Wednesday night, with Taylor Swift dominating the list of nominees. The event was hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, and Katy Perry received the prestigious Video Vanguard Award, which treated the audience to a career-spanning medley. Eminem opened the show with a powerful performance alongside Jelly Roll. Other notable acts include Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Kravitz, and Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift’s whimsical black-and-white music video for “Fortnight,” the lead single from her album “The Tortured Poets Department,” earned ten nominations. The track’s featured artist, Post Malone, also received significant recognition with nine nods. The summer hit “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter, along with Eminem and Ariana Grande, each received six nominations, while SZA and Megan Thee Stallion received five.
