Megan Thee Stallion got emotional during a recent stop in Tampa, Florida, to her Hot Girl Summer Tour. In a video shared online by fans, the 29-year-old rapper choked up as she prepared to launch into her hit song, “Cobra,” while on stage at the Amalie Arena in Tampa on Saturday.
At video shared by X (formerly Twitter), Megan can be seen putting her head down and taking a deep breath to gather herself before the song begins. But when the backing track of “Cobra” started, Megan seemed to struggle to do the lyrics and had to cut herself off when she fanned her face with her hands and covered her eyes to stop herself from crying.
As the GRAMMY winner worked to pull herself together, her fans gathered to cheer her on loudly. The video itself featured a message to the rapper, which read, “We love you queen,” which was echoed by fans on X who got the hashtag. #WeLoveYouMegan trended over the weekend.
While the rapper has not yet spoken about what sparked the emotion, it comes after rumors that AI-generated sex tapes allegedly featuring Megan’s likeness have circulated online.

While Megan hasn’t talked about her brief time on stage, he took to Instagram to thank his fans for their support on Saturday’s show.
“TAMPA HOTTIES 🥹🥹🥹🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 Thank you i love yall! Thee energy was everything! Love you hotties 💙,” he captioned a video montage posted on Instagram Sunday.
Reports of AI-generated sex tape aside, Megan has a lot to look forward to in her future. The rapper’s self-titled third studio album is slated to drop on June 28, and he’s been previewing a different look for the upcoming release on social media.
Megan announced the release of the album in a tweet along with the first album cover earlier this month. “HOTTIESSSS SURPRISE!!!! My New Album ‘MEGAN” will be out JUNE 28 PRE-SAVE NOW!,” he wrote.
On Sunday, she unveiled another cover, with a cheeky message to “Stay tuned if you’re beautiful.”
Back in April, Megan graced the cover of Women’s Health‘s The issue of May / June, which she opened up to the outlet about how her “rebirth” inspired her upcoming album.

Megan has been a vocal advocate for using mental health resources. In 2022, the rapper announced the launch of Pete and Thomas Foundation. Named after her parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete Jr., who died in 2019 and 2011, respectively, the nonprofit’s website says its mission is to “raise resources to make meaningful and positive changes in the lives of women and children -children, senior citizens, and underserved communities in Houston, Texas, and around the world.”
A few months later, Megan launched a website called “Bad B**ches Have Bad Days Too,” which provides users with links to free therapy organizations, suicide and substance abuse help lines, among other resources.
The title of the site is taken from the chorus line of the lyrics of the rapper’s single, “Anxiety.” The song, from her album, Traumazinedetailed how Megan’s mind works – from insecurity, anxiety and sadness.
As a rapper who always shows his vulnerability and strength in songs like “Cobra” and “Anxiety,” Megan said. Women’s Health he has developed the ability to make music “that is still true to me but also true to my message.”
He added: “I’m proud to still be here. I’m not stopping. I want to see myself grow and become better than I am now. And I will understand.
“I feel like I’m in a fresh place, like everything about me is new,” Megan told ET last September. “My attitude, my vibe. I feel like I’m starting a new chapter in my life. I feel like I’ve been through a lot and I don’t care about a lot of things. I’m just getting comfortable with myself like, ‘Okay, at this point, boy, what’s the worst thing what could happen?’ I’m just taking the risk now.”
“I always like to think of myself as a confident person, I always (act) that I don’t care, I don’t care, but I have to go through the things that a lot of people say about me, where I have to remember, ‘OK, maybe you don’t as nonchalant and carefree as you thought you were,'” he admitted. “So, I had to step back (and) reevaluate. I had to get into a position where I was comfortable, and now I can say that I love Megan. I love Megan Thee. Stallion.”
