Donations reflect LP’s support for veterans and long-time active service members, including our ongoing partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – LP Building Solutions (LP), a leading manufacturer of high-performance building products, reinforces its commitment to the nation’s veterans through LP’s donation® SmartSide® Trim & Siding for a newly constructed, custom adapted, mortgage free home built for one of our nation’s wounded heroes, retired US Army Sergeant Joshua Hargis. A decorated Army Ranger and K9 handler, Sergeant Hargis served four tours in Afghanistan and was seriously injured during his last deployment.

LP’s contribution highlights the company’s long-standing dedication to supporting veterans, coinciding with the commemoration of Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada. This custom-adapted home will provide Sergeant Hargis and his family with a comfortable and accessible living space tailored to meet his unique needs as he embarks on a new chapter in his life. The home was built through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s RISE (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program.
“We are honored to contribute to Sergeant Hargis’ new home and support him and his family as they move forward on their next journey,” said LP Executive Vice President and General Manager Siding Jason Ringblom. “Supporting those who have sacrificed for our country is central to our partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation and LP’s broader commitment to veterans. This project holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at LP.
LP will commemorate his dedication with a ceremony on November 12 for Sergeant Hargis, who was previously honored by LP and the Gary Sinise Foundation at the 2023 Tennessee Titans’ Salute to Service game.
Along with the LP donation® SmartSide® product, the LP Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit funded by LP, provides financial support for the construction of houses. In 2022, the LP Foundation named the Gary Sinise Foundation as a national nonprofit partner, providing annual financial support. This year, LP further strengthened the partnership by donating 100% of LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding is required for custom-adapted, mortgage-free homes built for these heroes.
“On behalf of our founder Gary Sinise and all of us at the Gary Sinise Foundation, we are extremely grateful for our partnership with LP and the LP Foundation and for their commitment to join us in honoring our nation’s veterans, including extraordinary heroes like Sergeant Hargis. , who sacrifice their lives every day to defend our freedom and our country,” said Gary Sinise Foundation Executive Vice President Jim Ravella.
LP’s commitment to veterans extends beyond charitable giving. Through initiatives such as sponsorship of the Manufacturing Institute’s Heroes MAKE America program, RecruitMilitary and Mission StartPoint (founded by LP team member Joe Buhajla), LP actively promotes support for veterans and active military personnel in the workforce. This dedication was recognized earlier this year when Watkins LP and LP Plant Manager Bob Simpson received the prestigious Above and Beyond Award from the Defense Department’s Office of Guard and Reserve Employer Support. The award, for which LP and Simpson were nominated by LP team member and Minnesota National Guard member Ross Ruder, highlights LP’s dedication to creating a veteran-friendly workplace.
