Lokayukta officials on Thursday (July 11) conducted a Statewide search operation in connection with 11 cases of disproportionate assets registered against government officials in Belagavi, Davangere, Dharwad, Chitradurga, Mandya, Kolar, Mysuru, Hassan and Kalaburagi districts.
Several teams of officials simultaneously conducted searches at the homes and offices of relatives of the accused government officials at more than 56 places.
According to a press release, the officials raided Basavaraj Maggi, Revenue Officer, Mahadevapura Division, BBMP, at 11 places and seized 15 sites, two houses, 32.2 acres of agricultural land along with ₹ 2.3 lakh cash, ₹ 59.4 lakh ornaments and ₹61. 7 lakh worth 586 casino coins. The total cost is about ₹3.3 crore.
Officials raided four premises owned by Mahadeva Bannur, AEE, Panchayath Raj Engineer Division, Belagavi. The officials seized three houses worth around ₹ 1.05 crore along with ₹ 1.8 lakh in cash, ₹ 20 lakh in gold jewelery and a vehicle worth ₹ 7.5 lakh.
During the raid at DH Umesh, Executive Engineer (E), KPTCL, Chikkamagaluru, officials searched five places. They seized four sites, four houses, and two acres of agricultural land worth ₹ 4.8 crore, as well as gold ornaments worth ₹ 40 lakh and a vehicle worth ₹ 15 lakh. The total value of seized vehicles is ₹ 5.3 crore.
Searches at MS Prabhakar, AEE (E), Bescom Vigilance Police Station, Davangere district found two sites, two houses, 4.33 acres of agricultural land worth ₹ 1.5 crore, besides ₹ 3 lakh cash, ₹ 30 lakh ornaments, ₹ Vehicles 50,000 worth, household goods worth 10 lakh. The total cost is around ₹2.01 cr.
During raids at seven places related to Shekhar Gowda Hanumgowda Kuradagi, Project Director, Nirmithi Kendra, Belagavi, officials seized five sites, four houses, 83 acres of agricultural land along with ₹ 1.6 lakh in cash, gold ornaments worth ₹ 16.9 lakh, the vehicle is worth ₹ 8.3 lakh, the total cost is ₹7.8 crore.
Searches conducted at four places related to M. Raveendra, Chief Engineer (Rtd), Public Works Department, led to the seizure of four sites, six houses, 49.15 acres of agricultural land, along with ₹ 37,500 in cash, ₹ 83 lakh worth of gold . ornaments, vehicles ₹1 crore, household items ₹50 lakh. The total cost is estimated to be around ₹5.7 crore.
During raids at KG Jagadeesha, Chief Engineer, PWD, at five places, officials seized five sites, seven houses, 36.2 acres of agricultural land along with ₹2,400 in cash, ₹3.11 lakh in ornaments, ₹18 lakh in vehicles, ₹3, 5 lakh household goods. The total cost is about ₹5.2 crore.
The search was conducted in 6 places located in Shivaraju. S, Executive Engineer (Rtd), Drinking Water and Village Sanitation Division, Mandya District.
During the search, officials found 3 Sites, 3 Houses, 10 Acres of Agricultural land along with ₹ 6 lakh cash, ₹ 8 lakh gold ornaments, vehicles worth ₹ 90 lakh with a total value of ₹ 5.08 crore.
The search was conducted at six places in Vijayanna, tahashildar, Harohalli taluk, Ramanagara. Officers seized 9 houses, 13 acres of agricultural land and ₹ 2.4 lakh in cash, ₹ 22.7 lakh in gold jewellery, ₹ 43.15 lakh in Vehicles. The total value of the seized property is approximately ₹2.4 crores.
Officials raided Mahesh K., Superintendent Engineer, Kabini and Varuna Nala Circle, Mysuru, at three places and recovered three sites, three houses, 11.2 acres of agricultural land along with ornaments worth ₹22.8 lakh, vehicles worth ₹4 lakh, in total it cost about ₹3.7 crore.
NM Jagadeesh, Class-1 Secretary, Dasanapura Grama Panchayath, Bengaluru, was raided at three places and found three houses, 2.2 acres of agricultural land along with ₹ 28 lakh in cash, ₹ 1.2 crore worth of ornaments, ₹ 33.9 lakh vehicle worth. The total value of the seized properties is approximately ₹3.2 crore.
